He wasn’t suppose to be there. He was suppose to be at the graduation following ours. You see, the graduating class of 2011 was so big, that there needed to be two graduations, two speakers. The speaker for ours was some boring old man with words that were too dull to comprehend. However, the guy that was suppose to speak at the following graduation dropped by ours to give us our congratulations.
He was entertaining, and I regret not remembering his name. He spoke of how he could relate, he told jokes that brought us out of the boring confinements of our seats, he made us sit up, shout out, and scream “Yes! We are done!” This man was one of the only two speakers that made us smile, that brought joy to the anxiety we faced. Now after it was all said and done, I can remember from all the cheering and the laughter was saying to my friend next to me, “This guy is good,” as we got ready to march on stage and receive our diplomas.
