Voice

It was kind of interesting to for me to listen people’s monologues because sometimes these monologue could really reflect what I had experience or was experiencing. However, things turned bore later. The reason was that its length was a little long for me.

Major and minor fair

I have been Major and Minor fair. By the way, I was disappointed for this because I did not choose my major and there is nothing helping for me. Actually I did not want to go there. However it was workshop. Therefore I feel that’s wasting time

Voice

The Voice was meaningful. Eventually, it’s funny. But, it’s boring or sad. Before going there, I expected something special. There I think that two-hours was boring for me.

8th floor.

A giant window, sometimes rainy and sometimes sunshine.  Whenever I feel tired, depressed, or pissed off, I come to this giant window and throw myself into the chair.  Close my eyes and think for nothing.  The little relax room on the 8th floor did is my favorite place to relax in the school.  I’d love to take a short nap before my math class so I can be energized after a hard working morning.  I would like to go to 8th floor alone rather than stick with my friends.  I’d love to ask my brain stop functioning for half an hour and just look outside the window.  No specific aims, but anything.  Sky, birds, roads, people.  It calmed me down whenever I need a little rest after a stressing week.  So, 8th floor.  Come whenever you need a place to belong.

Library, my second home

I have never thought that library would be my second home.  But to tell the truth, I did spend almost the same amount of time in the library and the VC building.  Usually, we love to book a study room and do homework by ourselves.  One of the best experiences ever, nine of our LC04 girls went to library study room for two nights and studied Anthropology, and it turned out that we got the highest scores in our most hated class, Anthropology.  I love to stay in the library because it helps me to concentrate better.  I usually cannot concentrate on my work at home and all I want to do is to relax on my bed.  After all, I love Baruch library.

around Baruch

As its location in the center of Manhattan, Baruch College is surrounded by restaurants, fast food places, coffee shops, pharmacies, banks, and a lot of other shops. Some places you can recieve a 10% off discount when you show your Baruch ID. I remember that on the second day of school, I went to the Zen vegetarian house and bought a mango chicken rice there. I didn’t know that I can get a discount with my ID, so I paid full price. When I finally realized, I showed them my ID, but they were like “oh, take it out earlier next time.” Ever since that time, I never went back again. LOL

Baruch library

I always thought that libraries are boring places where everyone just keep reading and stuyding and there is no fun. But now I feel like the Baruch library has become my second home because almost everyday afterschool, I would stay to finish my homeworks. Me and my friends would borrow a large study room (which needs at least 4 people), and spent the rest of the day there. Althought we always get into conversations that has nothing to do with the assignment, but we had fun there. When we get stuck on problems or is confused about the assignment, we always have each other there to help out. Sometimes we would stay really late and have dinner together before going home.

My Teaching Experience

This semester, my friends and I joined UCLA in Baruch and participated in a program called Chinese Learning Program. In this program, we teach Chinese to those who want to know more about Chinese culture. For me, it is a very special experience.

At first, I was a little bit nervous and had no idea how to teach. After we had several meetings and came up with class rundowns, I felt more relieved. Fortunately, those who came to our class were really nice and friendly. Sometimes we teach them while playing games, sometimes we divide them into groups and teach them one-on-one. It’s really interesting, and it’s also meaningful to me. Not only they can learn Chinese from us, I feel like we are also learning from them.

It’s an interesting combination of dirfferent cultures and really an unique experience. If any of you guys are interested, you are very welcome to join our next class, which is on Dec, 1st. Refreshements will be served. LOLL

Major/Minor Workshop

Since I was absent the day we had registration workshop, I’m going to talk about the other workshop that I attended which was also about major and minor (yea, tha’s the only thing I concern. LOLL)

In this workshop, we were listening to the panel; some students talked about their majors/minors and why they those them. This workshop really helped me a lot, because I had been hesitate about my major all the time, felt it was weird to major in a non-business course in a business school. However, after listening to them, I realized that it was no big deal. The most important thing is that you have to be sure what you choose is what you really like.

So I’m not confused any more, and I know I will go for what I truely like!

experience of Baruch

This semester almost over, I don’t have much positive feeling about Baruch College. Baruch is not like what I expected. First time, when I went to Baruch from the back door which is opposite side from library, it’s didn’t look like college. It looks like more
hospital than the college. I think it’s one of the reason that make me don’t like Baruch.

I think the place that I went often besides the class room is library. I think started from the second week from school began; I went to library every day. I don’t know myself, and what the point is for went to library. Now, I just feel that the library just like
my house, I kind of hate it.
