Nevin’s Playlist

I have a very mixed up taste in music. Unlike most people who go for specific genres, I listen to anything as long as it catches my ear.

Drowning – Armin Van Buuren

Desert Rose – Sting

There Might Be Coffee (Millertime Edit) – Deadmau5

Lisztomania – Phoenix

Marivn’s Room – Drake

Melodrama – David Puentez

I Won’t Give Up – Jason Mraz

Llove – Kaskade

1901 – Phoenix

Devil’s Work – Miike Snow

Drowning is pretty much my go-to song. No matter what mood i’m in it’ll always put a smile on my face. it’s very calm but also upbeat, but the words can sooth you. It just has an awesome feel to it.

Desert Rose is pretty much my sooth song. It wont put me to sleep but it’ll completely put me at ease. It is very different from anything on the radio these days. It definitely does have a desert like feel to it.

There Might Be Coffee (has nothing to do with it’s name) is my pre pump up song. It’s pretty soft but also has a pumped mood to it. Something id play if im on the way out and need to be eased into energy.

Lisztomania is probably the most neutral song on the list. I can listen to it no matter when. Usually on a long drive ill throw it on.

Marvin’s Room is in simple words, my im the shit song. Post killing it this has got to go on. If im feeling on top of the world its for sure what goes on. Its my untouchable mood song.

Melodrama’s explanation is a bit awkward to write, but theres something about it that is extremely sexual. Any girl it goes on for can never resist. It doesn’t even have a single word, but its just a do it beat.

I Won’t Give Up is such a different feel than all my other songs. It’s something i play when i have a headache and i can’t handle much boom. I’m never really a sad guy, but if i ever am and need encouragement this would be the song.

Llove is my kill it song. It strictly goes on when i need to be super hyped. As soon as its played (has to be blasted) i’m instantly on a different planet. Also can be a very sexual song at times, sometimes has too much kick.

1901 is another anytime song. It’s a little less neutral than Lisztomania. The difference between the two is id play this on moving roads, while id play the other in traffic. This song never gets old, i’ve been listening to it for years and haven’t gotten sick.

Devil’s Work is an awesome beat. Anyone who hasn’t heard it should for sure check it out. It has a pumped yet relaxing beat so i can either go to sleep to it, or work out to it. The lyrics are also a semi-dirty story (realized that after listening to it 20 times)

Nevin, a lot of the music you listed is related to having a good time and being upbeat and pumped up. I also like how you included music that you listen to when mellow or on long drives because this shows how your taste is related to your mood. Armin became popular when I was graduating from high school- I remember listening to a lot of Paul Van Dyk, Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia, and Sander Kleinenberg. All have some really great music (don’t know how many you are familiar with). Thank you for explaining each!
