Songs For Me (Ledia Gjoka)

Songs for Me Playlist

These are the songs that I identify with most.

1. Alibi by 30 Seconds to Mars is a personal song for both the band and myself, as it shows the personal struggles we all deal with, and that when we fall, we have to get back up again.

2. Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls is a song that my friends would say represents me at my core; a hopeless romantic.

3. Stranger by Safetysuit is up to your imagination.

4. Annie by Safetysuit is another very personal song. At the concert I recently attended, the lead singer dedicated this song to every girl in the crowd, saying to listen to it whenever they felt down so that they could feel special.

5. All I Want by A Day to Remember. The first verse is the explanation.

6. Sing for Me by Yellowcard is another romantic song that I have hopelessly fallen for. I like the message, and I sometimes use it as a motivator to get past my writing ruts.

7. Anthem by Superchick is the representation of my inner feminist. It’s catchy and basically just about girl power!

8. Comes and Goes (In Waves) by Greg Laswell was a song that I found curtsey of a random video I saw on YouTube. I would probably still like it had I heard it without seeing the video, but the video made it more heartbreaking and unforgettable. It starts out sad, but like in life, it eventually finds its way into a hopeful musical score.

9. Take Me Back by Story of the Year is a rock anthem to the “better” days of the past. It takes the innocence of childhood and pairs it with hard guitar riffs, creating a bittersweet song.

10. Unstoppable by E.S. Posthumus is self explanatory. It is my favorite song to write to, especially fight scenes.

Ledia, thank you for posting your songlist and for putting in your descriptions as you went down the list. We share some taste in music (I too enjoy 30 Seconds to Mars, the Goo Goo Dolls, A Day to Remember, and Story of the Year). This music really seems to speak to you and capture your feelings- do you select songs from this playlist to help cheer you up or get you through the day?

Music is really the only thing that gets me to sleep and also wakes me up on the commute to school, so I do listen to them to get me through the day. These are just a few of my favorite songs, if I had to do a complete list I’d probably have at least 15 more songs, and be constantly updating it.

I’m sure the list would change too depending on the day!
