The transition from being a high school student to a college student was fairly easy. In fact, I would say that Baruch is really just high school part two. There are many similarities between college and high school such as the classes (except for obviously the lecture halls) workload, and the social atmosphere. The major differences would probably be the seemingly endless amount of freedom I have and how I have to be fully responsible for my own schedule. For instance, I still continue to procrastinate but I am trying to break this habit because now that I’m officially in charge of my own schedule I should try to do my work more efficiently opposed to cramming everything last minute. I also have to remember what assignments are due when because the professors do not constantly nag and remind us like the high school teachers did. The only real challenges that I’m currently facing are non-school related. However, having a professor who speaks in monotone and has very bland and ineffective teaching methods for my weakest subject does contribute to making learning more laborious. So all in all, college life is going pretty well. I hope to do well in my classes and open up to trying out unfamiliar things so I could meet new people and have new experiences. I am an easily intrigued person and crave to experiment and learn/discover more about topics that interest me. I chose Alice from Alice in Wonderland as my picture because just like her I am driven by my curiosity. Being inquisitive could lead to many unknown wonders and side paths. This is both beneficial, because I could learn something innovative, but it could also be damaging for distracting me from the path I originally set off to finish. In conclusion, I want to learn how to balance my life because although I need to focus on my studies and accomplish something, I also want to explore and have fun! I’ve only got one life so may as well try to make the most of it.

Danielle, this is a great monologue from the writing to the picture! I think it speaks volumes about you as a person and am glad that you took the time to write this all down. Procrastinating may be difficult to overcome, as so many other options present themselves on a daily basis, but I encourage you to look to others for tools to help get work done in advance. If you’d like, we can discuss this further. Great job!
