David’s Monologue

I remember stressing about applying and getting accepted into college. I used to think the workload for my senior year in high school was too much but now I miss the work I used to get so much. Now that I look back, high school was such a breeze. It is actually really hard to get adjusted to the “college” lifestyle because of the easiness of my senior year at high school. I used to wake up at 9:30 everyday, get to school by 10:30, end school at 1:00. I only had three classes to worry about and they were fairly easy. Now I need to wake up at 5:40 just to make it on time to my 8:15 classes, which I am having trouble getting on time to. I guess the only difference of being a high school student and being a college student is that you have to be responsible for your own work and be independent. I wish I was close friends with all of you already so you guys can help me get my priorities straight. I need to face reality already and get out of that summer mood. I wish I could go back to the second semester of senior year. When that semester started, everything was so easy and I started to do a lot of fun things. I guess I thought college would be more fun but I think college is fun if you live the dorming experience. Oh well. Just gotta go “HAM” starting from now on ^_^

When I was living the stress free life. Take me back to summer of 2012.

David, a lot of your peers share these feelings, especially with regard to the ease of senior year and challenges “getting into college mode.” Try and reach out to those you look up to and ask them what strategies work best for them. Nice job.
