Rubin museum
Although I was unable to attend the Rubin Museum, I was able to do some research online and learn a lot about it. It was really interesting to learn about the collection of Himalayan art that they have at the museum. It’s a really interesting place to visit and I hope I get a change to attend it in the near future.

Mishkin gallery
The Mishkin gallery was actually the first art gallery I ever attended. I was really interested in the way the photographers captured the way jazz was played. I learned that even thought you can’t hear the music through the picture, the photographers did a great job at portraying a similar message. I learned that a picture really is worth a thousand words, as photographers put a lot of time into the orientation of the features in the picture before the snap of the camera. After attending this art gallery, it helped me gain a more sophisticated perspective. It’s important to realize the subtle factors that must be considered before taking the picture, which will lead to capturing a more meaningful photograph.

Baruch voices
I really enjoyed the Baruch voices performance. I thought it was really cool to see those talented actors act out a skit that was written by other people. Although they make it look easy to perform, it certainly isn’t simple. It’s tough to express the correct emotions when the skit doesn’t represent your character, but they did a great job doing so. I really enjoyed watching them, as they were able to make laugh and made the act really interesting. I believe that the upcoming freshman will enjoy this performance next year as well.

monologue
So we’ve been in college now for how long exactly? Wow, almost 2 months now. Time really flies by, doesn’t it? Well I don’t know about you but to be honest, I’ve been enjoying it so far. I went to a Jewish school for the past 12 years of my life, so I was always surrounded by people who are just like me. I guess it’s fair to say that I’ve been living in a so called bubble for the past 12 years because I’ve always been surrounded by people who share the same lifestyle and culture as me. So while I’m studying here in Baruch it’s actually the first time I’ve been exposed to people with different backgrounds on a daily basis. But I got used to it pretty quickly. It’s a great opportunity for me to learn about people’s different cultures and backgrounds. And besides for meeting new people, I’m still sticking to my motto when it comes to academics-word hard now, have fun later. Actually, scratch that. That SHOULD be my motto, but I prefer procrastinating. Yep, I can be found procrastinating my school work anytime, anywhere, all day, every day. In fact, if you don’t believe me, you can follow me to the library after this period and catch me in the act. Excuse me, but I rather use my 4 hour break to hang out with friends. The school work can wait for later. No, but all jokes aside, I have my priorities straight. When I need to get something done, I get it done and I know when it’s appropriate to sacrifice my free time for school. And even though work is piling up on me lately, I still set aside time to play basketball, watch the Nets play, catch an episode of How I Met Your Mother, and of course listen to Drake. Speaking of Drake, if you don’t know who he is, he’s my favorite rapper, who also sings, and you should definitely try listening to his music. Give it a shot. I admire Drake so much so that my friends have asked me if I would “go gay for him”. When I was asked that, I gave the question a thought-but as joke. The answer is obviously no. I just really enjoy listening to his music and I appreciate the lyrics. Oh, btw I forgot to mention the most important part about me-my name is Shlomo, nice to meet you. P.s. It’s currently 1AM and I’m about to post this on the blog. You think I’m a procrastinator? Your call.

about me
http://www.kizoa.com/slideshow/d3234622k2160857o1/slideshow
The first thing you should know about me is that I’m a huge Drake fan. Drake, who used to be part of the show ‘Degrassi’, is now a famous rapper and singer. In my opinion, Drake is the first person to successfully rap and sing, which is exactly why I am such a big fan of his music. I’ve been listening to Drake before he became a mainstream rapper and I’m always up-to-date with all the songs he releases. I enjoy listening to his life story that he articulates through his music and the life lessons he conveys in his songs. The second picture represents a collaboration group between Drake and R&B singer The Weeknd. The eyes and beak of the owl form the acronym for October’s Very Own. Drake and The Weekend make great music together and they both have songs that fit a person’s every mood. The third picture represents the Brooklyn Nets, a basketball team who recently moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn. I’ve been an ardent fan of the Nets for 11 years and I’m happy to see them finally becoming a playoff caliber team. Besides for watching the Nets, basketball is also my favorite sport to play. Every Saturday, my friends and I organize games and play until it gets dark outside. I also play a lot of soccer, and as you can see in the fifth picture, I was on the soccer team in high school. The sixth picture is a picture of the Israeli flag. I am very proud of my Jewish and Israeli roots and I enjoy visiting Israel to see my family and friends who live there. Besides for rap music, I also enjoy listening to house music at raves and parties. Last but not least, my friends are obviously a big part of my life. My life wouldn’t be half as exciting or funny if I wasn’t surrounded by my friends every single day. Basically, if you ask any of my friends about me, they’ll tell you I’m that kid who’s obsessed with Drake, a sports fanatic, and always looking to go out and have a crazy time with his friends.
