Johnny Li — Post One

This slideshow is a compilation of a few of my photos that I have taken throughout the year and gives you some insight of who I am. Photography is my hobby and I go out and take pictures whenever I have free time. I mostly take pictures of trains, buses, anything transit-related, and anything that I find interesting, mostly clouds. Traveling is what I usually do on weekends and vacations, exploring new places around the city that I’ve never been to before. And yes, I bring my camera almost everywhere, because you never know when a good picture is ready to be taken. I enjoy spending time with my close friends from high school, going to the city, going to the park, sharing conversations while walking through the streets of Queens or anywhere around the five boroughs. One of the sports I play to keep in shape is handball and I play whenever I see a free handball court in the park. I’m not really a competitive person so I play for fun and enjoy playing with others who just play for fun, and not to see whose better. Well, here’s a glimpse of who I am, and what I like to do. Hopefully there are some within the Baruch community who share similar interests, such as transit, handball and photography.

Fro Playlist

This playlist is a collection of a few of the songs which evoke emotion in me. A lot of the songs I wanted to include were too underground to be found on Spotify but that’s alriiiight. Anyway, music for me isn’t just something to listen to. It is like my therapist. If I’m sad, I don’t talk to anyone, I just pop in my headphones and forget the world. This is possible for me because I store my memories, thoughts and feelings into the music I listen to. Literally, each song for me is like a file. When I “open” this file, or play it, memories come rushing back. I think this is why I rarely show any emotion to people. I only access it when I listen to music and it stays strictly with me (myself?). “Shelter” provides me with something that I can relate to in more ways than one. “That Power” has an awesome story at the end of it and I LOVE the way Donald Glover tells it. “Intro” just sounds amazing as background music for my life; I let it repeat for hours!  Baths’ song reminds me of carefree, colorful summer nights, the good old times. “You and I” is the softer and more playful side of me.
