Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I think this is a fun perspective to have and speculate upon, in all reality I don’t believe that it’s truly possible to foresee exactly what you will be doing at any time from now or who you will be… But I do think the concept of attraction and having goals is important. On a most fantastic level I see myself in grad school in europe, most likely Paris studying philosophy and art. I see myself as already having or beginning a fairly successful career as a writer, and artist. Most importantly, I hope that I will be very sure of what my direction is at that point and that I am happy with it. This might not pan out exactly as I see it now, for whatever reason, but I know for certain that the most fundamentally important things to me will be to; 1. to keep learning – not necessarily in graduate school but in some way 2. to be happy – sounds cliché but whatever it is true 3. to have some great people/pets around me. Ha.

Haha this picture…I like the irony, it says a lot and a little.

I made a playlist that is supposed to encapsulate who I am as a person. This in itself is kind of absurd and difficult… however, I did my best to select songs that i’ve heard throughout my life, some are more meaningful than others. I couldn’t limit myself to just 10 – I could probably find 10,000 but these were among the most stand-out to me. I am made up of the people and events in my life regurgitated with my own lens – each song is sort of representative of a person or period in my life. I think overall, I tried to pick really contrasting songs that explain how I dislike the idea of belonging only to one walk of life… As much as I tried to address seriousness, I also put some really simplistic songs that I think are appropriate considering I am only 18 and am willing to embrace the fun ignorance of youth.

Subject: Missed Midterm

Dear Professor Ellingwood,

I apologize for not being in class last Tueday and for missing the scheduled midterm. Due to an emergency, I had to travel straight home from my 7AM class making me miss the rest of my classes that day. It’s quite confidential but I assure you that it’s of some significance to me and my family. Please inform me about how I could make up for the midterm. Thank you for your kind consideration.

E-Mail Assignment

SUBJECT: FRO12 BTA MIDTERM

Dear Professor,

I’m e-mailing you today just to let you know that I was unable to take the recent midterm because of a severe fever that left me literally immobile. I would hope that there was some way that I could make up the midterm with a make-up exam or any kind of assignment that would compensate for the missed midterm. Please let me know when a make-up is available or an assignment is required.

Subject: FRO12 Monologue Assignment

Dear Professor Ellingwood,

Good Evening. I just have a quick question in regard to the monologue that is due for this upcoming Tuesday’s class: must it be about my experience at Baruch as a freshman thus far or may I write about a certain accomplishment of mine that has modeled me into the person I am today?

Thank you for your response in advance!

Sincerely,
Erica Likht

Mock E-mail

Dear Professor,

I hope all is well with you. The reason I am contacting you is because I am part of a food drive called Candy For Sandy. From this drive, we are trying to receive donations of candy for the kids who lost their homes from the hurricane and were unable to trick or treat during halloween. I was wondering if you would be able to make a general announcement about this drive the next time we meet for class. Thank you very much.

Your esteemed student,

Michael Villone

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Subject: Question about ENG 2150 homework

Hello Professor Suleymanova,

I was looking over the homework assignment regarding the essay on Descartes and I don’t quite understand his view on the external world. Do you have any suggestions that would help me to better understand the material? Thanks in advance!
