Meeting with the academic advisor definitely helped me plan out my course schedule for the spring semester, by telling us what is required, what we should take, and what is available to take. By doing so, it makes our job and the process much simpler, because all we need to do is choose a professor and a time.

Sean Seepersaud-Monologue
ALL of you have experienced the feelings of being angry, pissed off, sad, upset, frustrated, pumped up, ridiculously happy. Remember that time that you broke up with your boyfriend or girlfriend, and didn’t wanna talk to anyone about it? Or when your parents pissed you off and you locked yourself in the room? Or what about that three mile run, when you needed some motivation to bang out that last mile? Or the locker room, suiting up for the football game under Friday night lights? Or before a fight, and you needed to get into beast mode, ready to kill the kid that disrespected or threatened your friends and family. I remember each of these moments, and the only thing that was there to comfort me, the only thing that will always be able to alter my mood on command, is the power of music.
You ALL know how it feels hearing a certain song and entering your own world, where the sounds of music take control of your mind, change your thoughts, and force your body to move to the rhythm. The vocals that start the song off go along so perfectly with the intro beat it sends chills down your spine, your hair stands on end, and all you can think about is how amazing everything sounds all together. The beat picks up, and you start tapping your right foot a little, maybe nodding your head a little. SHIT the beat is building up; you think to yourself…you know what’s coming in the next 20 seconds. The beat is speeding up, the vocals are getting louder, and your heart starts racing faster, now your hands start moving a little, maybe just side to side in front of you a little. Your shoulders start to sway, hips start moving a little. Ten seconds pass by, and every limb of your body starts to move, more and more, as the beat builds. Everyone around you is moving in the same way, the room is dark but you can feel the energy. Standing right next to the giant speakers, the bass merges with your heartbeat, and you think of nothing other than what is going in and out of your ears. You close your eyes as the beat is about to drop, body completely in sync with the backbeat as the vocals fade a little, the main beat pauses for a split second…your body stops moving along with everyone elses, every pair of hands suspended above their heads for that short second…the crowd is quiet and still. Then the beat drops, every body around you is jumping, hands in the air, screaming at the top of their lungs. All you can focus on is the beat, you have no idea how your body is moving to it but all you know is that it sounds amazing, and you don’t want it to end. The music has complete control over you by now, completely control of your thoughts. That bad test grade you got? Forgotten. The dumb bitch that spilled your coffee? Forgiven. NOTHING can bring down your mood, the music is uplifting, empowering, boosting your confidence and making you one hundred percent happy. When you have no where else to turn to, look to music, it will never disappoint you.
cheating post
I do not believe that there is one set solution to the widespread problem of cheating. It happens everywhere; on tests, in sports, in relationships, and no matter how much you do, the problem will ALWAYS be there. Making an example of someone who has cheated will not stop others from cheating. I believe it will just make them to be “more careful” if they are cheating. There is no way to completely eliminate cheating from todays society because there is no way of changing someone’s morals or views.
About blogging
I’m not really the type to blog, just because I hate expressing myself over the internet or over text. I’d much rather do that in person, and talk about myself that way. Surprisingly though, I actually didn’t mind doing this. I think it was because I’m getting to know everyone who’s seeing this blog, and it’s not like they know me already, which is why it was easy for me to write about myself. I learned a lot about my fellow comrades, and I look forward to becoming better friends and getting closer as the semester goes on.
Sean Seepersaud-Who am I?
All the songs below are on youtube for you guys to check out if you’d like
1. Dj Khaled-All I do is win
“All I do is win, win, win, no matter what…” Whenever I hear this song, a sense of motivation and confidence comes to my mind. It reminds me that confidence is the key to success, and having the right mindset in any type of situation gives you a huge mental advantage when faced with a conflict.
2. Carley Rae Jepsen-Call me maybe
“Hey I just met you, and this is crazy…but here’s my number, so call me maybe?” It’s spontaneous, and adventurous. I love meeting new people, talking to different people, and starting new friendships. Many people are quick to judge and don’t allow themselves to branch out to new people. A simple line such as the one above can start a whole new friendship. Although this song has become annoying, it will always be the number one singalong.
3.Fabolous ft. Jeremih-Its my time
“Go hard today, can’t worry about the past ’cause that was yesterday. Imma’ put it on the line ’cause its my time.” This song is one of my favorites. The opening line pretty much speaks for itself, don’t you think? The past is the past, shit happens, move on; whatever happened happened and it cannot be changed…so why worry about it? Worry about today, take risks and move forward.
4. Armin Van Buuren-J’ai envie de toi
With my headphones in, listening to this song beginning to end, I get completely lost in the music. I close my eyes and all I think about is the beat, how everything flows together perfectly and how enticing it is. This song reminds me of the power that music can have over a person if you completely give in to it.
5.Nervo-You’re gonna love again (Pixel Cheese)
We’re teenagers, we’re going to go through relationships and all that. This song is just a reminder to move on from what you’ve been through in the past, because someone else will come along and make you forget all of it…and the song itself is amazing along with the vocals.
6. Rick Ross-Stay schemin
This song reminds me of my senior year, one of the most amazing years of my life. Whenever I hear this I think of my closest friends, and all the memories I have had with them since elementary school. It also reminds me of how close I got with my grade in my last year of high school through parties, school events, and having class with them.
7. JayZ-Young forever
“Forever young, I wanna be forever young” In my opinion, this is one of the greatest songs JayZ has ever released. Yes, it is a couple years old but the meaning of the song will never get old. This song brings back many memories, again with my closest friends, from the summer of 10th grade. It brings me back to a time where I had little to no worries, responsibilities, or burdens. Don’t rush to grow up, because when you’re older you’re going to wish you were young again.
8. Bob Marley-Three little birds
“Don’t worry, about a thing…’cause every little thing, is gonna be alright” Do as much as you can to live a stress free life. Stop worrying about the things you can’t change, don’t dwell over the little things. When life is moving too fast and I get stressed and I hear this song, it reminds me to chill out and take things one at a time….cause every little thing is gonna be alright.
9. Kevin Lyttle-Turn me on
I’m not sure if its the reggae, or the beat, or the singing, or Kevin Lyttle’s accent…but this is an instant good mood song, no matter how upset I was before I hear it.
10. Dada Life-Kick out the epic motherfuck_R
If you don’t leave your comfort zone, life is always gonna be boring, nothing will ever change. This song represents the crazy side of me, the risky side. Don’t be afraid to try something new or get a little weird once in a while, you might discover another part of yourself that you actually like.
The Perfect Class-Sean
To begin with, the perfect class would have to be completely stress free. I wouldn’t want to be staying up late doing homework, or worrying about studying for tests that require you to memorize information, and not worrying about reading countless papers to learn things. The class would have to be something that grasps my attention, it would have to teach me something relevant to life. The class itself would consist of class discussions based on experiences with historical background; no textbook teachings. Instead of tests that quiz our memorization like I mentioned before, there would be papers or graded discussions to quiz our knowledge. The professor would have to be laid back enough to be comfortable with, yet strict enough to hold the respect of the students.
Sean-About me
Stating the obvious…my names Sean, I’m 17 soon to be 18 in September. I live in Long Island, I love football, listen to mainly house and techno, stuff thats on 97.1 or 105.1, and mostly any music as long as its not people screaming in my ears. I’m down for anything that sounds fun. Talk to me if you can keep a conversation going
