Blogging was never a big part of my life. I had a blog before, xanga? a while back, and tumblr, also a while back. I usually stay on the site for about a few minutes and then I just log off for months. I don’t really see the point of having a blog, rather than typing about your day. I think I’d be better off just telling someone about my day rather than letting everyone in the world see it. I don’t enjoy blogging and I don’t think I ever will. I followed my friends’ blogs but it was always the same. Just the same pictures constantly being re-posted one after another. All in all, I just think blogging isn’t right for me.

Who Am I – Ji Yong Eom
http://www.mixpod.com/playlist/89479489
My name is Ji Yong Eom. I am a student at Baruch College. I recently decided to pursue my dream to become a producer. I came to Baruch College to major in Accounting after hearing about CPAs making a lot of money but I realized that I don’t want to be in the same building all day, every day. I want to travel, go around the world, do something more exciting rather than sit inside an office and crunch numbers all day. I never really had a career goal in mind but as soon as I started attending college, I realized accounting is something I do not want to do. I want to create music, music that touches hearts, music that other people can relate to. As you can see, if you listen to my playlist, it is all electronic dance music. I remember how I first came into electronic dance music. I didn’t really like it at first but always getting a ride from my friends to places, I started to really enjoy electronic dance music. My friends always blasted this genre of music during long trips so I eventually started to adapt to like this kind of music. I love this music because it can be so different, so unique in each and every way but it is still the same genre. Whether it pumps you up or makes you sad, it is the same genre. House, electro, trance, and dubstep is what electronic dance music is. So.. after listening to this genre of music countless times for a bit over a year, I really enjoyed it to the point to dj these songs at home. I wanted to mix this song and that song with my own taste but before doing so, I listened and REALLY listened to live sets and radio broadcasts to see how a professional dj actually mixes. Doing so, I learned how to mix here and there but I wouldn’t call myself good or professional. So while djing, producing came into play. At first, I was always hesitant but I realized all dj’s are producers, so I decided to start the path of producing. I haven’t really gotten anywhere yet because I just started school and I always find a way to procrastinate. So you see, this is who I am. An asian boy whose dream is to produce, dj, and travel all around the world to play at venues. My wish is to get a chance to play at Electric Zoo, Electric Forest, Electric Daisy Carnival, Sensation White, Nocturnal Wonderland, Ultra Music Festival, Beyond Wonderland, Identity Festival, Outlook Festival, BPM Festival, Creamfields, and lastly, Tomorrowland. Traveling the world, doing what I love, I believe that is what life is about. Being able to play in front of hundreds of thousands of people is what I’m aiming for. You might think that I’m living in some kind of fantasy and think I need some realistic goals but this IS my realistic goal and I’m going to achieve it no matter what.
Perfect Class (Ji Yong Eom)
I’d like a class where I’d be able to communicate with friends but also be able to learn a lot, kind of like my Spanish class in my high school junior year. In my perfect class, the teacher would able to actually teach well and also know how to motivate the class. A teacher without a heavy accent, good handwriting, and an open mind, instead of a stubborn attitude would be the ideal teacher for my perfect class.
About Me (Ji Yong Eom)
My name is Ji Yong, it’s rather annoying to say, I know. I feel like I should get an English name but I can’t choose. Anyways, I’m from South Korea. I came to the United States at the age of 5. I attended Benjamin N. Cardozo High School. I was born and raised in Queens. I love music. I like to dj. I’m on the verge of trying to produce songs, but it’s really not working out that well. BUT it’s okay, I’ll try harder and harder.
