My first semester at Baruch college was everything i expected and more. Everyone was right when they said college was hard work. At the beginning of the semester i felt overwhelmed with the amount of work that had to be done. However, as the days went by i was able to get the hang of things.  The picture represents the really cool group of friends i have made this semester. I am so glad that i have met such awesome people and got to share this experience with them.  I hope to stay close with them for the rest of my college experience.

My favorite enrichment workshop was the academic advisement workshop. I really enjoyed this workshop because it helped me with my registration process. Thanks to this workshop i have a better understanding as to what i have to do for the next 3 years of my college experience. It was an interesting and helpful workshop that helped all those who were there.

The days leading up to registration date have been easy. The meeting with our advisor definitely made the process much easier. The only problem is finding good professors. The times for the classes i plan on taking are pretty on point. So overall, the process has been simple.

My career goal is to one day become a stock broker!  So i am going to be majoring in Accounting and probably minoring in economics or finance, either one.  I am really confident that this career path is the right one for me. I mean, i love math and numbers so anything that involves that is good for me.  I also like the fact that i will be making a lot of money, not because of the cars, or big houses, but because i will be able to give back to my parents.  The money is also a plus because i want to travel and to travel you always need to have money for the expenses.  Hopefully all goes well,  and i will be a successful  stock broker in the future.

Dear Professor,

I was unable to attend class today Thursday November 8 due to a sudden illness. I have spent the day at the doctors office and will have a doctors note for you on Tuesday. I am aware that the midterm was scheduled for today, however I hope that you will allow me to take a make-up test. I’m sorry for the incovenience.

Cheating is something that is done everywhere, in all types of schools public or private. It just seems to be the easiest way out for many students when trying to maintain the high grades. However, it is wrong cause it is unfair to everyone else who actually takes the time to do things the right way. I don’t think cheating can ever be elimanted completely, there will always be that one person who will cheat no matter the consequences. However, i think that Baruch is doing the right thing my informing the staff and students of the on-going cheating scandal. It allows the students to become aware of the consequences that will be taken when they cheat.

This was my first experience with blogging. I knew what blogging was before but never really like the whole idea of writing down personal things/experiences about myself . I am the type of person that likes to keep those things to myself and just share it with people who are very close to me. However, blogging for freshmen seminar has changed that for me.  Now, instead of it being a hassle its just a fun way to express your thoughts or ideas on certain topics.  For now  my blogging experience will be put to a stop but maybe sometime in the future ill  create my own blog with a couple of friends! 🙂

The most important people in my life are my parents. They are the ones who have always been there for me good and bad ( of course) . Encourage me everyday to be the best that i could possible be and to never give up. They are my inspiration and my drive, they have given everything to give me a better life and i want to pay them back by making them proud.  i love them to death <3

. I  My brother Steven is also a very important person in my life. He is exactly 8 yrs old turning 9 soon! He is a pain in the butt sometimes but i wouldnt know what to do with myself if i didn’t have my brother. I hope to be a good role model to my brother and to be someone who he knows he can always count on.

This is a picture of my godmother, Isabel. A god mother in Catholic relgion is someone who will take care of the child incase the parents pass away .She is literally my second mother, i can always count on her for everything.  I love the fact that i can be able to talk to her about anything and everything whenever i need.  She has taken that role from day one even if my parents were live and well. I am so thankful for having with her in my life <3

This picture is a picture of the people in the Gateway program i was involved in high school. This program helped me so much in my preparation for college. All these people are very inspiring and special to me. The memories i share with them will last me a lifetime and i hope to maintain many of the friendships ive acquired.

This is a picture of my boyfriend, diego, and I. I put this picture up here because he is  not only my boyfriend but my bestfriend as well. He was my friend before anything and has always been there for me. He is the only one who has enough patience for my many mood swings and fits. I know no matter whar we will always be a part of each others life.

Theres a silly picture for you all lol! Meet my bestfriends guys ! They are the weirdest people i know but i love them. I can be myself around them and know they will never judge me. I wouldnt change them for anything.

This is graduation, the proudest moment of my life so far. The most emotional one as well. This day marked the start of my new journey. I was soon to become an official college student and making me the first person in my family to attend college. I hope to repeat this day in 4 years when i become  a college grad.

The swimming pool, this represents my escape. This is how i get away from all my troubles and im able to expereince peace and true happiness. I love to swim, have been swimming since i was 7., and even dreamt of becoming professional when i was younger. lol! im a fish out of water !

My perfect class will consist of a class that combines both discussions and hands-on activites. Where one day we are able to have a discussion on a topic and the next we are able to take the class outdoors to continue learning about that specific topic. This will keep the class interesting and fun yet educational. Its a great way to satisfy each persons learning style, whether it is visual or auditory. The professor is also engaging and funny and knows alot about the subject he/she teaches and life in general.

Hi everyone! My name is Maritza Moreno. I am 18 years old, born in colombia but brought to the united states when i was just 6. I have lived in queens, ny ever since except for one year in which my parents decided to move to florida .  I plan on majoring in accounting but my goal is to one day become a stock broker.
