Registration Workshop-Michael Sheridan

My favorite Enrichment workshop that I attended was the registration workshop. It was  very helpful  with picking our classes. It outlined all the possible classes we could take next semester and even next year. It gave me a good idea of what exactly I should be taking  next semester. Our academic adviser Mr. Rodriguez was very helpful with everything and I really enjoyed it. It was one of the most helpful workshop and I think everyone in the class took something out of it. It changed my personal perspective by showing the classes I needed to take for my major. This really put me in the mindset for my future and actually inspired me to research different classes that would help me with my major.

Friendship at Baruch- Michael Sheridan

http://media1.santabanta.com/full1/Emotions/Friendship/friendship-50a.jpg

My first three months, what can I say. I met a few friends that I have become close with. College has been like everyone said it would be. Hard and a lot work. Papers and allnighters all that good stuff. This first semester has prepared me for what is to come in the next three and a half years. It has really got me in that mindset for college and I’m thankful for that. I’m happy with the friends that I’ve made and I hope to stay friends with them for the rest of college. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was scheduling for next semester because we got last choice. I look forward to the rest of college and wish everyone the best,

Leading up to Registration Day-Michael Sheridan

Well I’ve been looking at class online and seeing if there were spots open. I’ve also been looking at some of the professors online and seeing what ratings they have. I found the academic adviser session on Tuesday very helpful. He was able to point out some of the classes we will have to take next semester and in the future. So that was very helpful and even gave me different options to choose from next semester. My appointment to pick my classes is on Thursday the 29th so until then I will be looking up different class and their availability. I hope I get the classes that I want but if not I’ll just have to deal with it.

Career Goals- Michael Sheridan

I’m not really sure of what I want to do. I was leaning toward accounting but now I think I’m going to change to something else in Business. I just know I want to do something that will allow me to make money but also something that makes me happy. Maybe International Business or Financial Planning. All I know right now is I want to do something relating to Business. Hopefully the career I choose will be something that will make me happy because that’s something I believe everyone should do.

Michael Sheridan- Email to a Professor

Dear Professor Hinds,

I was unable to attend class today Tuesday November 6th due to a sudden illness. I went to the doctor and he diagnosed it as a severe case of the flu and advised bed rest. I will however be able to attend class this Thursday the 8th and hope to make up the midterm. I will bring the doctor’s note as well as any other pieces of documentation you might need. I appreciate your understanding.

Thank you,

Michael Sheridan

Time Management- Michael Sheridan

Struggling with Time Management is something everyone can relate too. I always leave things to the last minute thinking I have time and then I end up rushing it, but I do usually get my work done. I think it’s just the age we leave in with all this technology and distraction, however; I do think Time Management has always been a problem even before phones, TV, and the internet. Doing the chart in Freshmen seminar helped me see the time I waste and could be making use of so that’s something I need to be aware of for the future. I just need to set aside more time for papers and assignments and stop leaving everything to the last minute. It was always something you could get away with in High School, but college not so much.

Monologue- Michael Sheridan

Life passes us by two fast and that’s the problem, were always too caught up on what we’re going to do next or tomorrow that we forget about today. Who cares what you’re doing later, you’re living in the present. It’s one of the best things, being able to live in the moment and not having any worries, but it’s something everyone forgets to do. Can you remember the last time you just forget about everything and just had fun? With school, work, monologues, papers, midterms, finals there’s no time to just forget and live. The last time I just forgot and had a good time was probably prom or my birthday, both nights spent with people I won’t forget and gave me memories that are worth so much to me.

You might say oh I go out every weekend and live in the moment…No I don’t mean getting drunk and not remembering your night. I mean going out and making memories with those closest to you that you’re going to look back on years from now and be like “What a great night” or sit around and laugh about it with those you’ve made the memories with. Some memories you may not wish to reminisce on but you must never forget even bad memories have meaning or lessons that you will one day look back on and realize that you were glad you took time to make them. The next time you have the chance to just let go and forget about thinking what am I doing next or tomorrow, just live in the moment weather it’s for 20 minutes or a whole night. I promise it’s something you won’t regret. 50 years down the road I hope to be sitting with my friends and knowing I lived the life I wanted to and didn’t let life pass me by. Don’t you want that? I’ve lost people close to me but there’s one thing that will always stay with me, the memories we made together won’t ever fade. That’s one thing everyone should know, tomorrow is never guaranteed so make the most of today and worry about tomorrow….tomorrow.

Response to Cheating Article – Michael Sheridan

I found the article very interesting. When first starting here at Baruch just a month ago it was obvious how serious plagiarism and  cheating was taken here at Baruch. Besides this article Baruch has been sending out emails to inform students and parents that they are taking this very seriously. I like how they don’t just try to put in under the rug and act like it didn’t happen. They acknowledged it and are addressing it in the right manner and I believe it adds to the image of the school. Because although cheating may have taken place at Baruch they are taking it very seriously and investigating it as well as keeping the student body informed.

Thoughts on Blogging by Michael Sheridan

Well to be honest I’ve never had a blog before so this is my first experience. I never really thought I’d start but here I am right now blogging. Blogging has been what I had expected, lots of writing. I enjoy that it helps me to kind of know my classmates better and get to know things about them such as some of their interest. What I don’t like about it is that I usually forget when a Blog entry is due. It’s different from what I expected because it’s kind of like facebook and twitter where you just write or tweet what’s on your mind. I don’t really follow any blogs besides the ones in our class but I guess facebook, twitter and instagram can be somewhat like a blog. Blogging has been fun for me it gives you a chance to write what’s on your mind and see what is on others.

Who Am I? By Michael Sheridan

Hello Everyone

Here is the Link for the Slide Show I made since I can’t upload it. (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9L1gYIpvX4JS1pRN1JyZk9PMXc/edit)

1) The first picture is a picture of my two brothers and I. My brothers have played a big role in my life so far, they have always been there for me and have helped make me into the person I am today. We are all around the same age so growing up we always did the same things such as play sports and look out for each other. Family is something that is very important to me and having to brothers although not always the funnest experience is one that I’m grateful to have.

2)  The second picture is a picture of me and my best friend. We have known each other since we were in the 3rd grade and although he gets on my nerves he is like a brother to me. We’ve gotten to experience grammar school, high school, and even prom together; which are all memories that we can add to our friendship.

3) This is a picture before prom. I was lucky, because I got to go to prom with some of my closest friends and got to bring one of my best friends as my date.  Prom was a night that I will never forget because of all the things that happened and of course because I got to wear a tuxedo.

4/5) Pictures 4 and 5 are in the same category. These are pictures of my friends and I from the summer. Friends play an important role in my life and those that I am very close to I consider to be family. This past summer I have made many memories that I won’t soon forget and I can thank my friends for that.

6) This sixth picture is of my favorite Basketball team. The Lakers! I love playing basketball and have played for most of my life. It’s something I enjoy to do on my free time. The Lakers are my favorite team, and Kobe is my favorite player.

7) This picture is of Food. Something that I know everyone loves. My favorite foods as you can see is Pizza and tacos. I love food in general but if I had to narrow it down to two foods those would be it. I love trying knew foods and I hope to learn how to cook one day or at least get lucky and have a wife that’s an amazing cook and that can teach me how to.

8) This last picture is one that means the world to me. This is one of my closest friends. She is someone that is always there for me and gave some of the best advice. She is someone I know that I can always go to for advice. She has changed me and the way I look at things  and I know that no matter what happens she will always have my back.
