This is supposed to be a time management blog…right? So why am i posting this after its due? Do i know anything about time management at all? Do i know anything at all? Am i stupid? The answer to all those questions is no. Im amazing. And i have my reasons. This is late because of the damn hurricane. I have no frickin internet and its very hard for me to do my work. I will hopefully get power back asap. Damn Sandy Cheeks. Anyways, time management is very important if you want to do this efficiently. I hate it when people make lists and write schedules of things they need to do. Although it may be handy, it feels too restraining to me. I like to train my mind by making myself remember by myself. It usually works out, im getting better and better at it as the years go by. But, even for a kid who likes to procrastinate like me, time management is crucial in every day life. Whether its homework or social life or even work, time management is very important. When i make plans with my friends to go out on Saturday nights, time management plays a huge role. I have to coordinate where and when we should go certain places. I need to figure out how long we should be at one place and when we should leave in order to have the best night possible. So even know people think time management is not for them, everyone does it every day without even noticing. Without time management, everything would be a mess.
Time Management – Manraj Chawla
Usually, I tend to leave things to the last minute. However, since I’ve been at Baruch I’ve been trying to keep everything organized and of course doing my work on time. Every now and then like this blog post I do things last minute. Sometimes its good to do these assignments last minute because I don’t take breaks and generally tend to be focused, but on the other hand I do rush at times. I feel as if I waste a lot of time online which isn’t always good. I like taking breaks between doing my work. Cramming a bunch of information before isn’t good. I usually study for half an hour or hour and then take a twenty minute break. I hope I continue keeping up with all this work, and handing everything in on time.

I love Baruch and so far it has been a great experience, but lately only one thing has troubled me. Time management has become one of the most difficult things for me to deal with in college. Procrastination has made it even harder for me to get things done. I’m not saying I don’t accomplish things because of it, instead it has taken a toll on my overall performance. I am a girl who likes getting things done in the best way possible, however, when I leave things to the last minute it usually doesn’t end well. I just hope to manage my time more effectively in order to perform better in school, ultimately leading to higher grades. My solution that I have put in place for myself is creating a calendar that will help me organize my tasks. I hope that with practice I will get better at managing my time and it will become a routine.

I guess it’s kind of ironic that I’m going to write about time management and this assignment is almost a week late. I thought that time management would be easy before college started. It’s difficult trying to figure out what my priorities are because to me, everything is a priority. After doing the time management worksheets, I realized how much time I wasted on the internet and things that aren’t productive. I feel more motivated to spend most of my time on school and I’m trying to get back into reading. Now that finals are a month away, school should be my primary focus.

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t struggle with time management? I’m the type of person who likes to get as much sleep I can, I love to hang out, and do nothing for hours in front of the television. I even have time management problems in the morning because of my lengthy showers. It’s the hardest thing in the world to leave the hot showers in the cold mornings, especially now with the weather getting cold. I hate procrastinating, and that’s one of the things I really want to change about myself. I want to get into the habit of making a schedule and really sticking to it.

Time management has become an very important skill once you hit college. I can’t count how many times I end up procrasinating everything until the last minute and end up not finishing everything. In my personal experience, I can say that procrasination will never lead to good endings, so it’s best to finish up everything beforehands. Like right now, I had a week to do this blog post, but I chose not to. I had to wait until monday night when my electricity are about to be cut off.

Struggling with Time Management is something everyone can relate too. I always leave things to the last minute thinking I have time and then I end up rushing it, but I do usually get my work done. I think it’s just the age we leave in with all this technology and distraction, however; I do think Time Management has always been a problem even before phones, TV, and the internet. Doing the chart in Freshmen seminar helped me see the time I waste and could be making use of so that’s something I need to be aware of for the future. I just need to set aside more time for papers and assignments and stop leaving everything to the last minute. It was always something you could get away with in High School, but college not so much.

Time management has been an issue for me throughout high school. No matter how early I tell myself I wil finish an assignment or paper, it never really gets done until the last minute. I have the tendency to get overly comfortable with the time I have remaining to finish something, and before I know it, the time is gone. However, I feel like I work best under pressure. I don’t like spreading an assignment over a span of time. I like sitting there, focusing, and getting it done. But for this to happen efficiently, it has to be at the very last minute. I feel like the work I produce will just not be as good if I do it will lots of time left before it needs to be submitted. Maybe that’s just me, but I definitely work better under pressure with a time constraint.

For me, time management is an important skill that can always be used regardless of the situation. This skill is especially key in school and college because of deadlines and due dates for a variety of things. Usually, students who have good time management skills will be more relaxed and more successful than those who lack it. This is because they will tend to rush projects and it will overall turn out worse than a carefully planned out work. Although people realize the necessity of such a skill, some people sometimes cannot help but procrastinate. In the short run, procrastination seems perfect because it allows students to do other things that are much more intriguing than school work. In my case, I love procrastinating. I find a lot more joy in other things. I knew I did not have to try hard in high school because Baruch was my first choice and I came from the city and Bronx Science so I enjoyed my high school life to the fullest. I don’t regret it at all but now that college started, I can get my time management skills going. I plan things out and take mild game/video breaks with my girl every time I feel like I am too tired of work and it has been going perfectly so far. There are probably some steps that I can take to improve myself but I can still suffice currently. Time management is an important skill and wise to master and use for the rest of your life.

Time management is a skill that many have to adapt to as a mean to survive societies like ours. We can make the choice, to be controlled by clock or to take better care of our time. Unorganized time management tends to led to disasters such as, latenesses, procrastinations and bad work ethics; others who do utilize their time correctly tends get things done accordingly and efficiently. For me, I try to get my home works done as soon as possible when I get home, then I’ll proceed to go on youtube, Facebook and etc. If I had to study, I normally take a bath to clear my head, after the bath I would proceed to study with all electronics off but my phone for music. I normally study from 7 to whenever I feel like i’ve studied enough. I try to get to bed by 12 or 1 in the morning to get enough sleep. Even though it seems congested it really isnt, I always find the time to chat with my friends and family and having quality time with them; always having my dinner with my grandparents every night. I also keep two planners to keep me ahead, one for school and other for work and appointments that are not school related.
