My favorite workshop was the Baruch Voices. It was interesting hearing other people’s monologues because it told kind of connected us all in a way. I liked how we were able to hear people’s thoughts, stories, feelings, etc. Even though all I was stressing about registering for my classes, I enjoyed the monologues. It was nice knowing that I’m not the only one going through the difficult early mornings and workload.
First Three Months (Christine Shin)
This would probably describes my first three months at Baruch. I’m the type of person who needs ridiculous amount of sleep. And on top of that, I’m not a morning person. So when I had my 8 o’clock classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I was not happy getting out of my warm bed at 6 o’clock in the freezing cold weather. Then came my morning commutes. If I was lucky, I was able get a seat on the train and try to nap, but sometimes I had to stand and suffer the whole ride. This was not something I was used to. In high school, I would always get dropped off and it would only take me 5 minutes instead of an hour (if everything is going my way). So I find my eyes becoming heavy, just like Boo whenever I’m in class.
Reveal and Discuss (Lance Zar)
I think my favorite workshop was going to that museum. I surprisingly never been to a real museum before so it was a new experience. I got to see many new, different, and valuable things that held alot of meaning. As a wandered aimlessly around that museum, thinking to myself what i should go eat when i leave, i was deeply intrigued with almost everything i saw in there. It was really cool and i might even go again just for kicks. This museum experience inspired me to actually go and visit more museums. i want to see different museums in new york in order to expand my knowledge and see new things. I find museums very interesting and after going to the one in the workshop, i want to continue exploring and observing museums throughout New York City.
Baruch Experience (Lance Zar)
Throughout my first few months in Baruch, many surprises have come my way. Good surprises and bad surprises. Thankfully, many of my classes were not as hard as i thought. Besides math, i am having an easy time with class. I heard math was going to be very hard so i was not so surprised about that. Living in the city makes going to baruch a much better experience and i appreciate it more. The picture below illustrates my baruch experience because it shows the element of surprise. I have been surprised by the easiness and the fun that i am having. Hopefully i can keep up the good work and continue to have a good time and make some friends in the process.
Michael Jemal – this semester
this picture really summarizes what i have to do next semester. NOT PROCRASTINATE if i stop procrastinating then i guarantee i will do very well next semester. Lets see it Happen
Favorite workshop michael jemal
i didn’t really have a favorite workshop but the one that was most helpful was the one with Marvin Rodriguez and the Academic counseling. I learned a lot bout what classes i should take in order to graduate as quick as possible. He helped me and hopefully i would get my clases for my nextr couple semesters and then begin my major.
First 3 Months – Irving Shabot
Yep. That’s an actual video of me doing math this semester. Literally everything else is fine. My other classes were great, I didn’t slack off (too badly), and I was able to have fun outside of class. Just, Math… Oh well, Applied Calculus II, here I come. Hopefully.
First 3 Months – David Aptekar
Why did I choose this picture? Because that is what college represents, the beginning of your adult life. Despite what everyone says about not wanting to grow up I think they’re all full of shit. Being a kid sucks and everybody knows it, but now I no longer am labeled a kid, I’m in college. My first 3 months here were nothing special, came here, made friends and did my work. I don’t imagine Baruch being anything more than that because it is a commuter school but you never know. I don’t have much to say about my first three months honestly, its just school. What I can say though that even though we were new to college in August and getting used to new things Freshman Seminar is bullshit. I do not need to be babied just because someone thinks I’ll have a tough time getting adjusted. I don’t know who came to college and got completely lost in their head and didn’t know what to do with themselves but they obviously don’t belong here. The workload is not even a significant amount more than I had in high school, at least not yet. So that’s what I feel about my first three months, nothing special just school but hated freshman seminar and felt like it wasted my time.
Enrichment Workshop Baruch Voices- Tiffany Mazza
Out of the Enrichment workshops we attended this semester, my favorite one was the Baruch Voices. I enjoyed the Voices performance when we saw it in August and hearing the voices of people from my class in November made this enrichment workshop even more interesting. I liked listening to many different views of the school, being an adult, and being a student. I especially enjoyed hearing one of the monologues from our own class. Personally, I enjoyed listening to everyone’s different stories because it showed me how diverse and cool everyone in the class of 2016 is. Although it did almost interfere with my appointment to schedule my classes for next semester, I did enjoy going to Baruch voices. I especially liked how the different people portrayed the monologues to the audience. I am glad I went to Baruch Voices and I wouldn’t mind going again to hear more stories from more different people.

My experience at Baruch so far has been very nice. On the first day I met a very awesome group of people that have become my close friends as we end our first semester together. Although there was a lot of reading, assignments, and papers due, we all got through it together, successfully. I am so glad I was put in the DTC class, I have met so many nice people who share the same academic goals and are genuinely nice people. At first, i was a little nervous to be a freshman here at Baruch, but with the help of everyone here, I had a fun time and shared. My first semester at Baruch was pretty much what I expected, except for math class, but I am getting along well and I look forward to spending my next 4 years here at Baruch.
