Everyone has stress in their lives. School, tests, papers,family, making this monologue presentation that i know we all would rather not have to do. For me stresses are always a part of my life so coping with them sports really helps me out. Basketball has been in my life since i was 5 years old and its always what I’ve done in my free time. All those problems, anything happening at home or with your friends, it all disappears, if only for just that hour or just 5 minutes, its worth it.
One afternoon before one of my games i got in probably the biggest fight with my dad that i ever had. We went at it for about ten minutes and i was extremely upset. Storming out of the house, i couldn’t wait to get on the court and not have that worry during the game. Maybe unexpectedly i had one of the best games of my life, scoring a ton of points and just feeling great about my game. I used the game to escape the fight and played well because my mind was finally at ease. Ever since that game if i was ever struggling with something, i just grabbed a ball and hit the gym and left my struggles at the door. Im sure everyone has there escape, but for me its basketball, it always has been and always will be. I was probably playing right before this class considering the stress of the presentation.
