Papers and Storms

Sigh. Sociology paper and Sandy. Why do they BOTH have to happen at the same time? I mean, it was bad enough that we had a sociology paper due this week, but a hurricane?…That’s a bit too much. I can’t go anywhere because the mass transit system is shut down and on top of that, all regular programming on T.V. is reduced to the coverage of Sandy. I guess that is a good thing: I could work on my sociology paper without any distractions. I don’t even know where to start the essay. Well, I do know what I want to say but I don’t want to lose any points in case the Professor doesn’t agree with my side. Why does life have to be so hard? High school was so much easier…where the papers you write could have been “Google-ed”  instead of searching a stupid database for a “reputable scholarly journal.” OMG! What was that?!?!? I think I heard something…..(goes to look through the window)…Did that trashcan just fly?….I live near the East River….well, a couple of good blocks away from the East River…..I won’t get flooded. Maybe I could use that as an excuse for not doing my sociology paper?…”Sorry, Professor…I did do the paper….but the thing is that I had it printed out and put it in the basement…then Sandy stopped by…and it got wet….I still don’t have any power yet so I couldn’t open my computer and print out another copy…..”…Sigh, I don’t think she will buy that…..guess I’d better get around to doing that paper…..
