DTF Blog Post
Alright! So my name’s Matthew. I can describe myself with many words. Kind, friendly, shy, courteous, funny, boring… I’m basically a normal person.
An interesting thing about me is that I’m still 17, which makes me feel kind of young. At first, I was actually quite scared of trying to make friends since everyone was so much older than me. I felt that I would just get in the way of people. Of course, now I think of myself as an influential part of people’s lives.
Some of my hobbies include YouTube, video games, and of course, hanging out with friends. I really enjoy having the company of others just because it’s always more fun to fool around in a crowd than to fool around by yourself. I’m basically up for anything anyone has to offer since life has been running slow as of late. Not many of my old friends have many plans for the weekend to hang out, so I run out of things to do. YouTube has been slow since I haven’t really found much to watch lately. Anyways, I hope that we all hang out sometime.
My very personal “unmanly” side is my love of “cute things”. I personally LOVE kitties and pandas. They are awesome. Period. I really don’t have much else to say on this topic.
Anyways, I hope to major in Finance, but I also want to learn more about computers. Yes, I have knowledge in computers and yes, I DO know what I’m doing…. most of the time…. Anyways, I hope that we get to know each other better not just as individuals, but as DTF!

My name is Lina Hong
Create a playlist at MixPod.com
Hey guys! It’s Lina from your FRO DTF group. As you can see, above is my playlist for the media real assignment. My variation in music taste, from rock to country defines me in a way. I am a very interesting person if you get to know me. One second I can be playing video games like League of Legends or CoD, the next second I will be putting on make up getting ready to go shopping. My variation of interests allows me to fit into many different groups and be versatile in different environments. I could be working in Hot Topic and hanging out with the “scene” group with hair extensions and fake piercings. I could be tutoring peers at the math club that I joined for a couple years. I could even be going to a rap concert wearing snap back and Jordan’s. I could even be going to a Justin Bieber signing, be totally excited for part 2 of Breaking Dawn, or even listen to the One Direction band all day. So yeah guys, get to know me. I’m really friendly and we could talk about almost anything. 🙂
Here are some random facts about myself to fill up the 250 words requirement: I love animals with a passion. I sit on the bench feeding pigeons pretty much everyday, support PETA, protest on animal testing/seal hunting in Canada/ fur trading in China. I am not a Vegan though…(tried and didn’t work). I can speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin, English and somewhat Spanish, Japanese and Korean. I like red velvet cake and chicken Alfredo. I hate pickles, seaweed and carrots. Ew! My favorite color is pink. I want to major in Finance Stock Marketing or Real Estate, then get my BBA. Hopefully I will make a lot of money one day. I dislike cheaters, backstabbers, and snobby people. And I love my boyfriend Joey.

Me, myself, and I

I have three siblings. An older sister, a younger sister, and a younger brother. We fight all the time, but at the end of the day we love each other. We are a very close family and we appreciate each other and respect each other and we would do anything for each other.
- At the end of the day, I never forget where I am from, and what my culture is and I am very proud to be Polish. I love going back to Europe and I wish I could visit there more often 🙁
- What I learned over the years, is that in life in order to go far, you have to have faith in yourself and believe in yourself, and just have hope that everything will be okay. And that is why I added the two quotes at the end because “without faith nothing is possible.” I also learned that there will be rough times, and obstacles you have to face in life but “suffering produces perserverance, perserverance character, and character hope…” Romans 5:3

I have an obsession for shoes. Especially high heels. I was raised with all women in my house, so I saw them wearing it, and now I am obsessed. I am a girly girl in the sense that I love nail polish and clothes, but I like simple things…nothing too extravegant.
- However, what I like even more then shoes is food! I love pierogi which is a polish food, but my top three favorite junk foods are pizza, chicken burrito from chipotle (with extra spicy salsa and guacomole) and popeye’s spicy french fries. I obviously do not eat healthy.
- Whenever I am alone, or walking somewhere I need to bring my ipod. I can leave my phone at home, but as long as I have my ipod with me I don’t care. Music is what calms me down when I am mad, or what excites me when I am happy. I loveeeeeeeee Beyonce. Anyone that knows me, knows I love her, and all her songs (especially when she was still in destiny’s child). I’m not picky when it comes to music, I love listening to jazz and I can have the song unchained melody replay over and over again.
- I am an animal lover, but the animal I love the most is my dog Rocky. He is so smart and cute, and as you can see from my pictures, he’s really sneaky and loves to hide places. We can never find him at home, because he is always under the bed. When there is a thunderstorm he gets so scared and we need to hold him in our arms or else he will keep scratching us and bothering us till we do so.

Who I am: Adrianna Martinez
I have been fortunate enough to have differnet experiences in my life which have allowed me to become the ambitious person I am today. From participating in different activites such as swim teams, singing concerts, drama productions, and dance companies, I have been been able to aquire oppurtunites that have shaped the person I am today.
This is a picture of me swimming backstroke. It was issued as the front cover of Aspahlt Green Unified Aquatic’s, yearly catalog. I have been swimming since I was four years old. From learning to swim classes to competitive USA swimteams, I have learned that only hard work and dedication will bring success. Swimming is and will allways be a part of who I am and continue to open doors to future opportunities.
After swimming for 15 years, I have been fortunate enough to aquire a job as a swim instructor at the Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics Center in the upper east side of Manhattan. I teach kids ages 3-15 how to swim. This job helped me realize that I love working with children.
I have come to realize that the people I have allowed into my life and surrounded myself with throughout the years have had a huge effect on the person I am today. My family and friends have helped me stay on the right path to doing the best I can and have encouraged me to become a strong person. Singing has always been a major part of my life and is still a big part of who I am today. I’ve participated in chorus since the third grade. This is a picture of me singing a song called “For Good” from the broadway show Wicked with my high school chorus, at my senior high school graduuation.
I love to travel. This is a picture of me in Puerto Rico.
My sucesses have not been easy, but with the help and encouragement of the most important people in my life, they have been more than possible to achieve and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Today, I am a strong, ambitious, and hardworking business student.

Little bit about me
My playlist above is essentially what I mainly listen to. It may sound very foreign to many of you but, this kind of music soothes my mind and my soul. Now, I’ve never been a very interesting person. I’m a big geek of the sorts, ranging from video games to whatever. I grew up playing video games and it has become a part of who I am, a daily custom I participate in. Before you think I’m a strange loner, let me assure you that I’m not. I tend to keep to myself a lot. Shy? No, I just prefer to contemplate to myself.
I don’t know whether or not this has been said by any person of recognition already but, my personal motto I, in a sense came up with is “Don’t linger in the past if you hope to achieve greatness in the future”. My life hasn’t been very good at all even up to this day I’m posting this thread. Of course, I won’t go into detail why however, I will say that no matter how bad things seem right now, you have to keep fighting. Cliche right? You have to just forget it and move on. “Fall down 7 times, get up 8”. Even when the situation seems bleak, never give up. I don’t have anything else to really say so, I leave you all with a humble Adieu until I see you all again in 2 weeks.
PS – Please excuse my poor organization of sentence placement

DTF Blog #1

This is one of my favorite shows ever. Its about someone looking for love, but you already that they find it. Following his journey to find his wife is very entertaining and funny. Im one of those people who have watched evry episode more than once, trying to deduce who his wife is.I plan to sit my kids down and tell them how i met their mother. If im only able to remember it all. My favorite character is Barney Stinson. I would love to be like him but sadly I cant. Love this show. Its really funny and puts me in a good mood. My favorite character is Phil Dunphy. I love his quotes and hes soo funny
This shows about random people who end up forming a study group and become best friends. Maybe we should form a DTF study group? My favorite character is Pierce. Hes a rich, homophobic old sexist/racist white male. Nobody really like him in the show, but I think hes hilarious
Had to get a picture with Michael Scott. He was one of the funniest characters in television. I never watched the UK version. I just recently started watching this show because everybody told me it was great. I really like the show, Im all caught up. Even though they got rid of my favorite character, I still gonna watch it till the end.
I know what some of you guys might be thinking but I dont care. I actually watch this show, its pretty funny. Some of my friends say I remind them of Spence but I really love Gibby.
Who doesn’t watch Spongebob Squarepant! Its the best show ever!!! I will watch this show until it is cancelled. I promised myself that I will watch cartoons no matter how old I get. Gotta stay young at heart.
Its just a funny adult cartoon. Its stupid but it puts me in a good mood. I like all the random scenes.
The coolest little kids ever. After watching this show, I started calling my mom the way Cartman calls his mom. I love Butters, hes always misunderstood but trys to do the right thing.

Follow Your Passions
I believe that life is an infinite journey of discovery. Every year brings new lessons to learn, friendships to cherish, and intense streams of emotion to experience. Not all of my past has been pleasant, but I am driven to make the most out of the present and future. When I decide on a goal, I put every effort humanly or otherwise possible towards bringing it to reality. Thus begins my chapter in Baruch, with me hitting the ground running towards career and personal development.
Likewise, I take my hobbies and interests very seriously. For instance, playing guitar – I can’t even remember how long I’ve been playing. Unsurprisingly, my entire playlist is guitar oriented. Classic rock has a very dear spot in my heart, due in large part to the raw power driving the music. These tracks are highly reflective of my undying determination to follow my dreams to fruition.
Still, calmness and meticulousness define my character just as much as raw passion. In music, as in life, I prefer to make each step a deliberate one, carefully made at just the right time and place. Guitarists like Santana embody everything I could hope to be as a musician. His control over the instrument, his articulation, allows him to project his will unto an audience without the slightest hint of trepidation.
I still have some fears and concerns about the future; it’s only natural. However, I know now more than ever the importance of following my passions.
