My favorite workshop that I had attended in my freshmen seminar class was the LGBTQIA workshop. Due to the diversity group in Baruch it is often important to realize what is right or not right to say and when it is necessary to speak for oneself. The Workshop clearly explains that jokes about certain racial groups are often not okay and it is easy to respond by saying ” what was that?”. Whats also important that words are very powerful and it could hurt others feelings when it related to them personally. It was important for me to attend that workshop because now i will be more careful of the words that come out of my mouth and have more confidence to speak up for myself when i feel like something is not right.

This is so far my representation of Baruch due to the load of work I have to do to prepare for exams and lectures every week and its been kind of stressful. I understand that it is only the first semester and we are just learning how to adapt the life as a college student in Baruch and understanding how things work. It felt like a transition was necessary to follow the routines in order to find success in Baruch and studying plays a big part of it. I have also been involved with social clubs in Baruch in order to balance my stress level. It felt like everything was very independent in College and managing time seems to play a big role in getting things done. It seems like its just the start but I am getting used to the work in Baruch and it seems like a right place for me to pursuit my education.

Something about me is just different from everyone else.

I dont mean to be arrogant or anything but my life just seems like its all over the place.

Growing up in the Streets of Beijing, I thought I would settle.

But my parents decided to travel to different parts of china like ShangHai and GuangZhou.

Then somehow I ended up in New York.

Okay this time I am gonna settle here for a little while.

After 18 years of being my silly self, I realized I have been through a lot.

From the day I met my bestfriend to the day when we depart ways for college.

From being excited about enter high school to the day when I was finally tired of high school drama.

From the day when I was still a high school clown to now.

But hey its just life.

Like the song lyrics ” When it knocks you down, just get back up”

Well at least I learned how to appreciate the things I have now.

Right now I am just chasing my dreams.

Being a dreamer always feels good but I know it will feel even better when I am there.

It seems like a new beginning for me when I entered Baruch College.

Lexington Avenue seems like a friendly neighborhood to me and it feels like home.

I am exactly where I am suppose to be.

This is me, A freshmen in College who is trying to chase for his dreams.

My playlist has a wide range of American music and it includes American pop, R and B and Hip Hop. I just love music that creates a relax and laid back feeling because it makes me happy. But i also like music that has a deep meaning or like a message behind it. Personally I love artists like Jason Mraz, Bruno Mars and Neyo and i felt like they are all very different from each other because they have their own style in creating music. Jason Mraz has the tendency to create music that has a really happy feeling and it just calms you down with his voice. Bruno Mars would have like a powerful voice that would make let you bring your emotions out and Neyo kind of do the same thing but with a different approach. I really just like music that moves me and makes me want to dance. Music is like part of my daily routine because i go to school while listening to music and all i think is music when i walk alone on the streets. Music is part of my life and i wish that one day i would create my music and it would be something that other people would love as well. Music is something that changed my life because it had always been my personal influence.
