Brian Lee Monologue

The Fall of 2012 was going to be the start of something new for me. During my senior year I wondered what college would be like and how much different it would be from high school. I thought that college would change me. I though that i would not have a life anymore because college was going to ruin it. Day one finally arrived and I was excited and terrified. The school was enormus and there were a lot people although I am used to this because my high school was overcrowded. As the weeks went by I felt that college was great and that it was just like high school without the intensity level. I was not intimidated by a class of 100+ people. I love the learning envirnoment at Baruch College and the different facilities that they offer. My favroite facility is the main gym where I go to play basketball during my free time. I thought that once I go to college my dedication to basketball would end. Well to be honest I think I got better because of different people i played there. The difference between high school and college is that college needs to be taken more seriously. Students in high school would procrastinate all the time and waste their time and question why they had to do school work. College is a different story. If you fail it’s your problem and you will have to be one to fix it. There is less time to make up for your failure. The safety net is slimmer and once you have chosen a path there is no turning back. The way people study for test, the way they write papers, the way they do homework is all gonna change. I am excited about the diversity of people there is in Baruch College. They give you an opportunaty to meet so many different people. College has given me a responsibility; to succeed and to build my future. Right now it’s almost halfway through the first semister and i’m feeling great although i need to do better in some classes. The most important thing in college is not only to study but to also create connections with other students and form your own study groups with people that you are confortable being around. This will lead to success in your college career.

  1. I heard you suck at math however i like your monologue because I agree with it. People are now on their own (well most of the time) with their schoolwork.
