Enrichment Workshops
I personally did not feel any of the enrichment workshops were useful. Most students are busy enough with school and other responsibilities such as sports or jobs so making these workshops outside of class time was a hassle. The workshops focused more on conflicts that happen everywhere when they should have talked more about what goes on inside the school and what the school has to offer. If anything, the NYU Voices was the best one because it was somewhat entertaining and was a good way to welcome us into the school.

Brady’s Picture
I chose to use this picture because I feel it really shows how my first semester was and that is stressful. I had a very rough time transitioning with my school work and it really showed. My grades were not very high and my work was always kept until the last minute. I have to get better time management for next semester and get my work done ASAP. I completely came in underestimating college and thats why my grades are not where I want them to be.

Hello Professor,
I was just wondering if there was anything that I could do to potentially bring my grade up for the semester because where it is at right now is not the best. Also I was wondering if I could still send in the answers to the take home test that was due on the 6th. I apologize for not doing so sooner. I know it is very late and I should have had it earlier however I have the answers if you can still count the quiz.
Thank You,
Brady Ambro

Brady’s Monologue
Brady Ambro
It was 7th grade and volleyball tryouts were a week away. I had no real volleyball experience except for some gym class games so I was very nervous. When the first day of tryouts came I was ready to go. I listened to my warm up playlist all day in school to get ready for the big day. The first day went very well. I performed better then I expected and felt good about how I played. The next day, my coach posted the first cuts. I made the first cuts and I was very excited. I couldn’t wait to play again the next day after school. I got to tryouts the next day and was ready to go. Once again after the second day I felt good about how I played. Surely enough I made the second cut. Time for the final day. I was still nervous for this day because it was my last chance to impress the coach. After the third day I was not very happy with how I played. After the last tryout I got cut and was not on the team. When normally this would make people upset, I was not going to let this get to me and instead I would use it and turn a negative thing into a positive. In between 7th and 8th grade I was very determined on making the team. I worked very hard during the off season and did a lot to get into shape and get my skill level up for the next season. I did a lot of wind sprints and a lot of leg exercises. This all helped a lot and paid off because I ended up making the team in 8th grade. Now it was time for high school ball. I was excited for this because my coach from middle school was the high school varsity coach. In my freshmen year, I was out on the Junior Varsity team after the tryouts. Early into the season, one of the kids from the Varsity team quit and my coach needed someone to fill the spot on the roster. I knew the spot was open but no where in my mind did I think I would be getting the spot. One day at practice we were warming up and my coach at the time pulled me over to the side and said “Brady, coach needs an extra spot to be filled on the varsity team and he wants to move you up.” I was in shock. I had no idea what to say and I just stood there in silence. My coach then said that I can have until friday to think about it and talk it over with my parents. I went right home and told my parents and they were amazed. They were very happy for me and gave me good advice. They said that although you won’t get as much playing time on the varsity team, just practicing with them will definitely make me a better player. As always, my parents were right. I chose to move up and was the only freshmen on the team. On my first day of practice I was very intimidated. Almost everyone on the team was much bigger then me and much stronger. Although they were bigger and intimidating I played as hard as I could and I was able to keep up. This choice to move up was probably one of my best choices and led to a great career of volleyball for me. I ended up starting on my high school varsity team the following year and ended up receiving all- league in 11th grade and all-county in my senior year. Along with school ball I played four years of club ball. With my club team I traveled all over the country. We went everywhere from California to Upstate New York. This also very much improved my skills. I saw great competition all over the country and became a great volleyball player. I attended the Junior Olympics four years in a row and in my final year my team was ranked #1 on the East Coast. I currently play for the Baruch Mens Volleyball team and hope to have a great career with my fellow Bearcats and possibly win a National Championship.

The link above leads to a playlist I made that I believe represents my life and who I am as a person. The first song is My Time by Fabolous. I chose this song because a lot of the time when I am playing sports, I think to myself this is my time to shine and be the best I can be.
The second song is The Thrill by Wiz Khalifa. I chose this song because I enjoy living life and this song is all about just hanging out and having a great time.
The third song I chose is Work Hard, Play Hard by Wiz Khalifa. I chose this song because of sports as well. This is a good song because it helps me relate to my sports in a way that if I try hard and work hard enough I will get what I want in result.
The fourth song is Young, Wild & Free by Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg. This is another song that talks about living life and not letting anything phase you. I like this song because it helps me get away from work and sports and everything and just have some relaxing time.
The fifth song is Not Afraid by Eminem. I chose this song because I can very much relate to it. This song portrays a message to me saying that you can not be afraid to try new things and you can not be afraid to step up to a challenge you are given.
The sixth song is We Are Young by FUN. This is another song I chose that states that life is all about having fun and that you should live in the moment and enjoy every second of your life.
The seventh song is Roll Up by Wiz Khalifa. I added this song because I am the guy that all my friends come to when they have a problem and I am the one who they know will always have their back and will “roll up” to them when they need help.
The eighth song is Champion by Flipsyde. I chose this song because this is the mentality I try to have when I play sports. I like to think that I am the best at what I do that way I can feel confident when I am playing and it helps me perform at a higher level.
The ninth song is Someday by Flipsyde. I like this song because it helps show me that no matter what happens or if your going through a tough time, everything will get better and you will be happy again.
The tenth and final song is Winner by Jamie Foxx. This is a good song to listen to before a sporting event for me because it is very upbeat and once again helps me get into that state of mind that I am the best at what I do wether I am playing in the game or not, or even if I am not the best.
