NO-CARD

Enrichment Workshops.

Honestly, I found that all three of the enrichment workshops were useless. The Dare to Engage workshop was informative, but as we’re reaching adulthood, it’s a no brainer the way in which we have to act to others. The others I found to be just for entertainment purposes. Something that I think would be useful is if there was a workshop where all the different Freshmen Seminar classes interacted with each other. That way, everyone meets new people, similar to how the normal college experience would. By meeting others, it would be easier to make friends that aren’t in your block. (No offense to my block! You guys are awesome 🙂 )

1st semester at Baruch

This image describes how my first semester was. At first, it was difficult trying to transition from high school to college. I was doing pretty bad when classes first started. But as time passed, getting used to all of the work wasn’t as bad. Right now, I think I’m doing a lot better in my classes. This picture will probably be relevant to me throughout my whole time in Baruch,

Question with FRO1000 assignment.

Hello Professor Hensley,

I’m having a bit of trouble with the recent assignment regarding the content of my paper. Could I have an explanation on what I needed to include again? Thank you!

Jeffrey Nguyen monologue

Procrastination is a bitch. Instead of going to sleep, I’m trying to do this monologue. Since I’m still not sure what I’m supposed to be writing about, I’ll just write about how college has been. All I have to say is that college is no joke! Let’s say in high school you learned a few sections of whatever subject for a few months. The equivalent of that would be like two weeks in college. Not once had I ever been worried about how well I did in school back then. But now, I’m constantly worrying and sulking. The grades that I’ve been getting lately have not been up to my expectations, but that’s all my fault. High school was a time where one could slack so much and still do pretty good. Nope, not happening now. *sigh* It’s tough… (It’d be nice if I could relive high school one more time) I keep getting thoughts about my motivation and whether or not college is worth it. Seems as if this is a low point in my life. Just another obstacle that I could overcome and hopefully be rewarded for it.

Besides school work, I haven’t done much. A normal day would go like this: wake up either early or late. get on a packed bus which then leads to a packed train (one of many cons of commuting to college), go to my classes, maybe knock out for a few minutes in those classes, eat when I’m finished, chill in Baruch’s game lounge then I go home. Not much of a college experience as you can tell. No offense, but there really isn’t much here. No clubs are appealing to me, well, maybe one but still. I did rush for this one fraternity though. It was a pretty interesting social experience lol. Some of those events were good. Meet some sorority girls and other people that rushed for both fraternities and sororities. Good times, goooood times…

I’m drawing a blank now, so I’ll stop here. Time to continue this college journey!

Here comes Jeffrey!

Above is a link that I think would describe me, or at least most of me. My name is Jeffrey Nguyen and I am a good friend once you get to know me. In the first picture, it shows myself and my friend playing handball. I chose this picture because it shows that I like to play sports, despite the fact that I am terrible at it. Sports that I like to play are tennis, basketball, football and handball, just to name a few. I’d prefer to watch though. The second picture is just a simple plate of sushi. This represents my love for food, and all types of food. Every time I’m at home, I seem to always watch the Food Network and the Travel Channel. With all this food that I see, I can’t help but try to find and taste all of the delicious eats in New York. The third picture shows my geeky side. I love video games, comics, anime, and other things that I would mention. It’s just so interesting to read, play, and know the story behind these things. The fourth picture shows my love for music. I listen to many different types of music. For example, i enjoy video game/movie soundtracks, R&B, Rap, Alternative Rock, Asian pop, and even the retro hits spanning from the 60s-90s. As seen in the fifth picture, I love Korean Pop so much!! I attended this concert for the group 2NE1 and it was amazing. Korean pop is just something I could enjoy at anytime. The next picture shows more of the silly side of myself. I tend to do things that may make people feel embarrassed, laugh, even to the point where my friends act as if they don’t know me. I’m just a fun, outgoing person that enjoys to make others happy! The next two pictures are of the friends that have been important in my life. The seventh picture are of the people that I’ve known since elementary school, and my friend’s brother. We’ve always hanged out and there have been so many stupid moments between us that are so hilarious. I’m glad that I’ve been friends with them for so long and for the time to come. Lastly is the eighth picture. You might be thinking, “there’s so many Asian people in this picture!” They are the group of friends that I was able to spend my high school years with. There are still many others that aren’t in this group picture. But all of the friends that I’ve made in high school have made the 4 years the best time that I could possibly have. My group of friends in high school will always have place in my heart. (That sounds so cheesy, but I got nothing else hehe.)
