Due Date: 11:59 PM October 30th 

The Monologue (2 Parts)

(1) Use your reflective free writes to create a comprehensive monologue that showcases your own interpretation of identity development, self expression, and who you are. Draw ideas from what you’ve written in your free writes and your experiences so far.

And…. 

(2) Embed/Attach a self-portrait which can be a photograph, an image, a cartoon, a drawing, or some other depiction of how you see yourself.

Remember, these monologues will be presented to the class on October 31st. However, they must be posted to the blog on October 30th.

**Also, you’ll need to bring a hard copy of your monologue to class on the 31st.

    MONOLOGUE (Xi Lin)

    I love shrimps, i can eat plates after plates after plates of them, no matter how they are cooked or prepared. I like them sweet, sour, and/or spicy. If it is shrimp, i’ll love it. I don’t know why, but they are one of the few selected seafood that I eat. I love cool tricks. When Wei show me those amazing magic tricks i was greatly impressed. I forced him to teach it to me, because i love to learn. I like to learn the most random stuff. One day i would want to beat box, then the next day i want to dance, then i want to learn how to sing and then magic tricks, spinning a pen, cooking, tasting wine, and so on. Then there are the days where i’m just lazy and all i want to do is sleep and never get up. I like water, and fruits over soda and chips because i feel bloated and disguisting after i drink soda or eat chips. I cannot stand oily fingers because then when i touch my face i feel self conscious and think my face is oily or my clothes is oily. Soda makes me feel fat, and its hard to suck in your tummy when you are filled with gas. I guess there are times when i get really feminine but luckily my girlfriend adores it. Maybe from time to time i will feign a can of sprite or some potato chips but usually water keeps me feeling hydrated and energized throughout the day. I need a lot of water, i always bring a bottle, buy a bottle while I’m outside, then get another for home and overnight. There are days when i wake up without drinking water and i feel disgusting. My throat gets all itchy, my lips all dry and gooy and i would not talk to anyone directly because i think my breathe stinks. I like to shower in the morning because it makes me feel clean and when i feel clean, i feel confident. I have a lot of dandruff so if i don’t shower in the morning, my scalps gets really dry and itchy and i cannot stand it. How i feel about myself physically and mentally is very important because only when i feel good will I have confident to last through the day and when i feel bad, i would not want to do anything but get the day over with then go home and sleep.
