NO-CARD

Stephen’s third post

This photo represents the life of a college kid who lives away from home. I love dorming in the city. I’m right in the middle of everything on 34th street and 8th avenue. Living in the dorms gives me so much more freedom than I have when I’m at home. I live on Long Island, where you have to drive everywhere. Unless maybe if you’re going to you’re friends house around the corner, even then though, that’s like a 10 minute walk for me. Since some of our friends live on the other side of town, a night of drinking always turns into who’s going to drive those couple of kids home. In the city no one has to stay sober to drive home haha. You can walk everywhere, and eventually you’ll find your way back. I guess living in the dorms is kind of good because I’m learning how to do things on my own a little bit. The main thing is cooking. Before I left for college, I was lucky if i could boil pasta without over/under cooking it. I’m becoming a much better cook now, but its still not the same as home. As much as I love the city, nothing beats my moms home coking. Whenever I go home for a weekend, my mom is always sending me back with food to last me a day or two. Going home for Thanksgiving was the best. It was four straight days of  eating actual food. Probably the best four consecutive days since college has started.

Stephen’s monologue

I don’t know where I will be in 30 years, but I do know where I want to be. I plan to be a successful investment banker or hedge fund manager, whichever one I decide on. I’ll be married with two to three kids, preferably all boys. My family and I will have a mansion somewhere on Long Island, I haven’t decided yet, as well as a penthouse on the upper east side. The key to success is to dress like it. I’ll have suits from Roberto Cavalli, YSL, Gucci and the list goes on. I bet you’re wondering what kind of car I’ll be driving right? Well there’s a few. First of all, the Bugatti Veyron SS, for when I feel like messing around at high speeds. Next, the Bentley Continental, and lastly the Rolls Royce Phantom, for casual appearances. Oh and of course, which I think is every guys dream, is to own a fuckin Batmobile. How many people can say they have one? I’ll be able to! One of the things that I will love the most about being wealthy, is that I can travel anywhere, just about whenever I want. I want houses all across Europe, and South America. I’ll be sure to contact you guys in 30 years to let you know what its like to be in the top 1% of the 1%.

Stephen’s Playlist

I’m constantly listening to music. Whether its while I’m doing homework, studying, watching the game, or just relaxing. I listen to many genres including; rap, hip-hop, R&B, house music, dubstep and a little bit of everything else. Out of all those genres, hip-hop is my favorite. Unlike many people think, it’s different than rap. Hip-hop is about taking poetry, or meaningful lyrics and putting it to a beat, and adding a rhythm to the lyrics. Hip-hop is meant to connect with people more than rap is. Anyway, heres my playlist (some won’t publish to the spotify playlist because they are local files):

Feet Don’t Fail Me Now- B.O.B and T.I.  I chose this song because I’ve overcome just about every struggle that has come my way. My feet didn’t fail me.

Dream Chasin- Chiddy Bang.  This song applies to almost everybody. Everyone has a dream of what they want to be or do in the future, and every day leading up to that point they are chasing dreams.

Slippin- DMX.  This song describes me because in all honesty, I’ve made mistakes in my life, some big, some little, and have felt like there was no coming back from some of those mistakes.

Ambition- Wale. This song is perfect for me because it shows no matter what you go through in life, if you have strong ambition, nothing can stop you from achieving you’re dreams.

Michael Jordan- Kendrick Lamar. Everyone has that moment where they think they’re better than everyone else. I used to think that a lot, but then I realized that it wasn’t true, and everyone should be viewed as equals.

Battle Scars- Guy Sebastian & Lupe Fiasco. I chose this song because there are some rough patches in life that you never forget; everyone has their fair share.

So Original- Cyhi The Prynce. This song is on the playlist because I believe I’m different than most people, no two people are the same; everyone has their little quirks.

Slow Down- Chiddy Bang.

Celebrate- Common.

Slow Down and Celebrate, go hand in hand with eachother. Slow down says how you should take life slow and enjoy every moment that you have. Celebrate is about how you should celebrate whenever you get the chance, even for the smallest thing in life.

What If- Jadakiss & Nas. This is probably the most important song on this list. Everyone’s life is made up of “What If” moments like; “What if I took High School more seriously?”, “What if my future plans don’t pan out?”. You only find out the answer to these questions when you take the time when you’re older, and look back on your life.
