Monologue

I am sitting in Baruch’s library writing a monologue. What is a monologue? A monologue is pretty much a basis of writing out your thoughts. However, I do not really want to make this really long because that will take up a lot of time and take away time from doing other activities mainly studying for my midterm and quiz coming up within the next few days. I studied for my midterm, but I need to study more. There is quite a bit of information to remember for that midterm. It is for Business Law, if you were wondering. Anyways, I don’t think I really want to talk about this because it will remind me of how much work I have left to do, so instead I will talk about… books and the library.

Books are to the left of me. There are reference books, big books, small books, and all sorts of books. They are organized into shelves and a particular order. They are for the most part “standing tall.” Some are leaning over, but are in a particular fashion so that way it won’t fall. There are lots of rows of books, too. It would be pretty interesting if someone took on a challenge to read them all. I know I don’t think I would. I think that would be a waste of time because reading one book usually takes me days. Reading all these books would take me probably more than a lifetime! Those are the books that are on the left of me.

On the right of me are windows and more desk space mostly. I see some of the Newman Vertical Campus, too. It’s pretty cool; I can even see a reflection of the building that I am in because some of the Newman Vertical Campus has some glass windows. I hear people making noise outside. Why do people need to be that noisy? What are they saying? What are they doing? I hear cars, too. The one person honked. That’s pretty typical since we are in New York. I know I got off topic, but that’s ok.

In front of me, I see people to some degree. I see one person’s back. I see a person’s hair. I see a clock all the way on the other side. There is this person who sat down like some seconds ago. There are lights on the top. There’s a bunch of stuff. When I think about it, if I were to explain my image, it would take a long time. I just checked the time; it is 3:30. I am making pretty good progress with getting this done. What else is there to talk about?

I feel pretty cold. I don’t understand why I am so cold. It usually is pretty cold on the 4th floor. I pressed “4” on the elevator, so it must be the 4th floor. I thought it was the 3rd. It’s quiet like I’ve been told. Here, I barely have any distractions. I, also, heard that during midterms week, it gets packed. You have to be one of the earliest ones to actually get a spot. People, also, sleep here. I don’t think I would want to sleep over at the library? Wouldn’t it be uncomfortable and not “homey?” That is what I would think.

I should get something to eat soon. My breakfast was Pop-Tarts unfrosted strawberry. It was good. I, also, had some milk, too. It was organic. My sister bought it, so I just drank it. It was good, too.  I could eat pizza or get a Subway Tuna Sandwich. I’m not sure I have options. When people are given the choice, they can get confused. I don’t think I am going to eat right now maybe in a few hours. We’ll see what happens.

I am going to conclude with this thought that everything that I observed was not a waste of time. Actually, it was sort of. The thing is that I observed my surrounding a bit better. It showed me that there are things you do not notice and force to notice in order to understand something a bit better. Perhaps, it didn’t do that either. If it did, great! The point of this monologue was to have no purpose just write stuff down, which I did. I think I did a pretty good job, how about you?

My name is Porsha Johnson, favorite color is purple, favorite ice cream flavor is coffee, biggest fear is getting eaten by a whale. I was born and raised in Far Rockaway, Queens and went to channel view school for research. As you can see by my music taste, I like dubstep, techno in general, punk rock, and metal. I also love classical music and was taught how to follow listening charts in elementary school. My favorite band is sytem of a down and a close second is slipknot. The first time I ever heard system of a down i fell in love because I never heard a song about selling ass. I dress like a fruit loop at times and I love neon colors. I’m a laid back person most of the time especially when I’m high on coffee (it actually puts me to sleep). In high school I was known as captain sarcasm and I’m always very straight forward about things. I love all things fat and fluffy. I have a really fat penguin pillow pet named Scott, I treat him like he’s my child.  There’s not many words to describe me, so here’s one I made up: Supercalifragisticpimpatoucus….squared. I’m always open to meeting new people and especially trying new foods since I LOVE EATING!!!! I think I’m just ranting now so, may the force be with you. peace out bros.

It’s very hard to know who you are to other people. You can only see who you are to yourself. To the best of my assumptions, I might say that when people who know me well (I’m not naming names) think of me, they might think of anything like the Yankees, baseball, basketball, football, or something like that. That is what I think of. These are sports that I follow, watch, and play competitively. They are my identity. I cannot speak for anyone else, but they are things that I can be proud of; they make me who I am.
Of course it is barely three weeks into the school year and I don’t know a lot of people and a lot of people don’t know me that well. But if there’s one thing I want people to think about me, it is that I always want to put others before myself. I am not always able to do that, but I try to the best of my ability to give more than I receive. I don’t want any appreciation; I always say that the greatest fulfillment in life is paying it forward: doing for someone that someone else has done for you. I don’t know who said it, but my father told me it, “Heroes earn their medals, real heroes earn their medals and don’t step up to claim them.” That is what I like about paying it forward; it’s not about honor or appreciation, it’s about the sole satisfaction of helping someone.

Me

Hi i am Brian. I chose these 8 following pictures to  represent my life. The first picture shows my ethnicity and nationality. I am an Asian-American living in Brooklyn, New York. I am from HongKong, China. The second picture shows my hobby of playing computer games. i Love playing computer games. I can spend the whole day playing games on the computer and not do anything else. Some games i love playing are Dota 2, League of Legend, Warcraft III, and Diablo 3. I have spent at least half of my life playing games. The third picture shows two hands shaking, which represents respect. I am a respectful person. I respect everyone and expect everyone to respect me. The next image shows two guys shaking hands. This picture shows my friendliness. I am a friendly person. I like helping people out. I also like socializing and making friends. The next picture shows  a person studying. This shows the studious side of me. This is only true on the night before an exam. The next picture shows how much i like to sleep. I like to sleep in class when the class is very tedious. The next picture shows i play handball. I love playing handball with friends because it’s just fun. The last image shows two guys joking around. I am a person who jokes a lot. However, sometimes people don’t know i am joking and take things i say too seriously.

My Own – Despite the World

Hey guys, it’s Jenny. I was born and raised in New York, a city that never sleeps. Despite that, if you were to ask me about the different landscapes here, i probably wouldn’t know how to answer you.  I didn’t quite know what pictures to put up, so I kind of picked randomly.

  1. My favorite color is green, but I don’t really know why. I guess one reason is because it’s not blue.
  2. Even though my favorite color is green I love silver accessories.
  3.  At times I can be a little crazy about what I consume. Depending on my mood I can eat just about anything or be pickiest person on earth.
  4. Hmm…sleep. What’s there not to love about sleep? Every time I wake up tired, I always tell myself to sleep earlier the next night, but that just seem to never happen.
  5. Half the time I’m practically living in my own world – by that I mean I think too much. On more then a few occasions, I tend to over think things.
  6. One day I would love to travel the world. I don’t have specific locations in mind because I want to do it almost aimlessly going from place to place.
  7. I love reading novels. I could stay curled up on the couch for hours just reading.
  8. I have absolutely no sense of directions whatsoever. If it wasn’t for gravity, i probably wouldn’t know up from down.
  9. The End.

Hi guys. My name is Suad Muratovic if you didn’t already know. I am from Glendale, Queens but I use to live in Ridgewood, Queens. My nationality is Albanian. I went to Francis Lewis High School before I came to Baruch (best college ever). My favorite thing to do in my free time is to play sports. I mostly like to play basketball, considering that is what I am best at, but i also love playing baseball and football with friends. I also love to watch professional sports whether I am really at the game or watching it from my television at home. I’m a huge Yankees, Giants, and Knicks(it gets tough cheering for a team that is always average or below average) fan. I also love to sometimes just kick back and listen to my iPod with all kinds of artists, songs, and albums. I am into rap and hip hop as you probably could see. I don’t really care if it is old school rap from the 90’s or if it’s rap from the present. These few rap songs are only some of my favorites but I listed these either because I really like them or some of them really speak out to me and inspire me. I still will however, listen to any music just as long as it is good. Baruch Bearcats ALL DAYY!!!!!

It was hard for me to choose ten songs which described me or just in general so I decided to pick ten songs by my two favorite bands: Green Day and The Beatles. The songs I chose are not necessarily my favorite songs by each band as that in itself is a hard decision to make so I chose the first five that I found on YouTube for each of them. They aren’t just my favorite bands though. They also inspire me musically. I play guitar and I really had no interest in playing music until I started listening to Green Day more and then The Beatles inspired me to learn to play different styles of music. I may not be the best at playing music but what I’ve learned from these two bands is that what matters in the end is that you are having fun playing music and that it is making you happy. I can count on these bands to make me feel better, or just music in general really, any time that I am in a bad mood. No matter what I am doing I am always listening to music and without music I don’t know what I would do. I don’t just listen to rock though. I like to listen to hip hop, r&b, pop, all kinds of music but anyone who truly knows me knows how obsessed I am with these two bands.

Myself

Hello, my name is Nicole Wong.  I was born in Brooklyn, New York.  The first image is a violin because I love to play violin.  When I was younger I always wanted to learn it, but only until last year I was able to take a violin class in high school.  The next image is an iPhone which I carry wherever I goes.  I always use it to check emails, search the web, and play games.  Sushi is one of my favorite foods and I can eat it every single day without getting tired of it.  The dog is a pet that I once afraid of, but now I really want to have it.  My favorite holiday is Christmas because it is a time that all of my relatives will gather around and have fun.  The adults will make delicious foods and gossip around, while the kids will go to the backyard to play with the snow.  Iris is the flower I like the most because it looks very pretty and it gives me a calm and relax feeling when looking at it.  I love to go shopping for clothes and accessories whenever I am bored or have free time.  The last image is a beautiful scenery from Paris which is a place I hope I can travel to one day.

My Playlist

First of all, it’d be impossible for me to get my list of songs I listen to down to 10 so I guess I’ll just pick 10. There’s no way you can tell it but I’m into rap and dubstep. My favorite artist hands down has to be Kid Cudi, but I wouldn’t put him into the rap category becuase his musics all his own. The list is mostly going to be Cudi tracks because his music just puts me in the chillest mood I can’t describe. I saw him in concert last year in Brookyln and it had to be one of the best things i’ve done to date. As for me being into dubstep, there’s just something about how they manage to make random sounds and basslines into a perfect harmony. I’m a huge fan of anything with a lot of bass basically, it doesn’t matter what genre of music I just think it adds so much more to the music and listening experience. Anyway, if I had to pick 10 songs to be in my playlist, here they are (sorry, they have to be links because my spotify was bugging out when I was doing this):

Kid Cudi –  REVOFEV
