Assignment 1
September 25, 2013 by aj160176
Hi! I’m Allie. I decided to pick 8 images. This was really hard because its so hard to describe yourself in 8 pictures, however they stay that a picture is worth 1,000 words. Since I’m limited to 500, I’ll let the pictures say mostly everything that is needed to be said.
Chinese Flag – The reason that I picked this picture is because just by looking at my face, most people won’t be able to tell that I’m half Chinese. My mother is American which I am also very proud of, but the Chinese half of me is just something that most people wont be able to recognize.
Guyanese Flag – This Guyanese flag is placed in the slide because although my father is Chinese, he was born in Guyana, so culturally I am Guyanese. Which is another thing people wouldn’t be able to tell by first glance
Closet – The closet is there because I love to shop. If I had $1,000,000 a good portion of it would probably be spent on clothes.
Cancer Colors – Cancer is a very sensitive topic for me because it has impacted my life tremendously. I lost two very close relatives to cancer so I felt like it was important for people to know that its a serious topic for me.
Dog – I have a dog. I got him when I was 7 and he is my absolute best friend. I love him so much. His name is Noir.
I <3 My Family – I think that family is a very important thing in your life. I don’t limit family to just people connected through blood line. I consider friends extended family. These are people that will be there for you and it hold a high value for me.
Tennis Racquet – I’ve been playing tennis since I was verrryyyyy young. Its a really big part of my life. I also feel like it was a way for me to connect to my parents because they love the sport along with making many friends and connections.
Spongebob Smiley Face – I love Spongebob. He makes me happy with his silliness and jolly personality. I think it matches mine. I am usually a cheerful person.

Where’s the picture of your best friends?
Thanks for sharing, Allie! I echo your sentiment about family — and your consideration of friends as your chosen family! Also, that Spongebob smiley face is too funny. Bring your silliness to class, it will make it more fun at 9:30am 🙂
