Assignment One

Just songs I like

Hey there guys, my name is Anderson and I was originally going to post a video I made that was supposed to describe myself, but due to lack of upload data I wasn’t able to. This is essentially a list of songs that I listen to for different reasons. Whether it be the fact that the song was actually my reality at one point, I relate to the lyrics, or something as simple as liking the way the song makes me feel, every song on that playlist has a reason for being there. Well let’s start with the first song which also happens to be favorite, “When We Say (Juicebox)” by AJ Rafael. This song became my favorite because I essentially lived the song. I won’t go into explicit  details, but it describes losing someone you love to another the song. It’s my favorite because even though it reminds me of a painful memory, it also reminds me that although losing someone you love to someone else hurts more than you will ever know, sometimes it’s better to just let go instead of being stuck on the thought the thought that you lost the person you loved. Sorry for the over emotional…can you be over emotional on a blog post? Oh, well whatever. I apologize and now we can stray away from the songs that have a direct tie into my life with songs that just make me feel better for just some reason. Well actully now that I think about it, the only song on my playlist that I don’t have an emotional tie with or just a reason for liking it would have to be “Beautiful” by Carly Rae Jespen & Justin Bieber. Hey don’t judge because that song is on my playlist, why don’t you take a listen before you judge? Anyways enough of me being defensive. This song honestly just has a melody that just soothes me. I’m listening to it while I type this so the ideas flow easily and I don’t just stay stuck thinking of what to say next. Another song that isn’t too connected to me is “S.A.D. (Single Awareness Day)” by Joseph Vincent. This song is just a happy upbeat song to make Valentines day seem better for all the single people out there by calling it single awareness day rather than Valentines day. It has a nice message, which is that you don’t need a valentine to be happy and if it’s meant to be it’ll happen. This song is always fun for me to sing on Valentines day because nobody has every known what I meant by single awareness day.  Well I think that’s enough of me ranting about random things that you probably didn’t even care about. Seriously though I like these songs quite a bit and it would be cool if you’d give them a listen. Honestly if you do you’d get a better look into my life and who I am. Since I can relate to most of the songs you can get a better view on me. Music is an awesome way to express yourself and I found a way to tell the things about me I normally wouldn’t say.

However, I digress it’s your choice ultimately. Hopefully you give them and me, a shy, nice, and extremely awkward guy a chance ^_^.

Thanks for sharing Anderson. It’s amazing how music can bring back memories (good and bad) — and they can definitely influence your mood! P.S. Can you bring the video in to class on a USB or upload it somewhere else? I’d love to see it.
