My life at Baruch is not what I expected it to be. I knew coming to a commuter school would not give me the typical “college experience”. However, I did not realize that the lack of a campus would impact my experience so much. Life at Baruch is boring and monotonous. If I had the opportunity to go back and choose colleges, Baruch would definitely not be on my list.
The artwork from the enrichment workshop showcased the beauty and simplicity of everyday life. Besides this I found the artwork very bland and boring. It was not interesting to me at all. I actually found the tour guide more interesting than the artwork. This experience made me realize that I need to keep an open mind, if I went into the workshop with an open mind I might have enjoyed it. Although I did not enjoy the workshop I definitely took away a lesson from it.
A New York Times article disclosed that 14 million Americans live in poverty and have no access to health care. I find this statistic shocking as we’ll as unacceptable. Living in “the land of the free,” which is filled with opportunity and government aid, I would presume that lack of health care was an issue that affected only a small group of Americans. So to find out that so many Americans in need of health care do not qualify for insurance programs baffles me. I do think the American government has an obligation to provide health care for all Americans. Most of us are tax paying citizens and therefore our money should go to government programs that benefit us. Such a program is Medicaid. I think the federal government should mandate states that oppose expanding Medicaid, to lower poverty criteria so more Americans can qualify for insurance. this idea is not foolproof but it is a good start in getting health coverage to the millions who need it.
The pictures in this post are intended to showcase the person that I am and what I like to do, during my free time. If I had to describe myself I would say that I am very carefree, funny, friendly, and sometimes a pain in the ass. I’m pretty lazy for the most part, if anything requires physical laboring most likely I’m not on board to do it. However I am never lazy when it comes to family and friends. I love spending time with my family and my friends, I feel at ease when I’m around them and I love all the crazy and stupid things we do. I cherish the moments I share with them. Aside from being a lover of friends and family, my four greatest loves in life are food, music, art, and my “me” time. I LOVE food! My absolute favorite thing to do is curl up on the couch with a large sausage and pepperoni pizza and listen to music. I also love music because it centers me when I’m alone and amplifies the feeling of happiness when I’m with my friends and family. Obviously I cannot fully display my personality using only eight pictures, I am way more complex. Nevertheless I posted what I felt was important to know about me, the rest you will learn as you get to know me ( if you care to, it won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t :).)
