Enrichment Workshop

During the enrichment workshop today, we took a quick tour around a display of Theresa Bernstein’s paintings. When our guide explained how Bernstein usually focused on this central color that brought her painting together, I started noticing the pattern in many of her paintings. It made me like her paintings even more because I loved how she incorporated that idea into most of her pieces. Two of my favorite paintings were the “Spray of Flowers” and a dark pastel painting during sunset (whose name  I can’t remember). The “Spray of Flowers” was very simple yet beautiful. The colors caught my eye right away and the simplicity and elegance of the painting really made it more than just a vase with flowers. The second painting caught my eye because of the central goldish color in the sky that pulled the painting together. The darkness at the bottom of all the houses contrasted really nicely with the “sunset” colors. Once again, it was simple but beautiful. Ultimately, the workshop introduced me to the works of a great artist.
