The first picture is of a Calculus problem. The reason I chose to include this is because, unlike a lot of people apparently, I love math. I love the challenge and not being able to sleep at night because all I can think about is whether or not my answer is right. I also love playing basketball, in fact, if I didn’t have homework, I’d be playing everyday after school. Basketball is a lot more than just a game for me. It allowed me to make a lot of new friends and bond with the friends I already had. I chose to include the logos of three major league sports because I am a huge sports buff. I watch SportsCenter and any other shows on ESPN all day. Sports to me are like a drug, I just love all the numbers and the connection players and fans have. I love to travel and see new places. Thinking about what life is like in other nations or states or even towns always fascinates me. We only live in one small part of an enormous world and I want to see what else is there. The next two pictures are the Indian flag, and a scene from Queens, respectively. The Indian flag represents my heritage. I was born there and despite growing up in America, I identify myself as Indian first. I chose the scene of Queens because that’s where I grew up. That’s where I learned, played, lived for as long as I can remember. It’s a beautiful borough, and probably the most diverse of all 5.I chose a picture of my high school because I feel that’s where I really came into my own. The people I met there, both teachers and students, the ups and downs and every day spent with my friends has shaped into who I am today. My high school experience really will stick with me for the rest of my life. Finally, I chose a picture of my favorite genre of music: rap. I really think my interest in hip-hop stems from the people I grew up around. All my friends and cousins were playing Eminem, 50 Cent, and other rappers when I was growing up and that got me into the genre. All in all, these 8 things just provide a glimpse into who I really am, it would take many more to capture everything.
