When I first listened to the song Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey I did not think I would actually like it, it wasn’t until watching The Great Gatsby I fell in love with the song. The song came up numerous times during certain scenes in the movie making me fall in love with the song. Beauty and a Beat featuring Nicki Minaj is such a catchy song, Justin Bieber definitely isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I do think he has an amazing voice, so many people judge him for what he does as a teenager but that has nothing to do with his talent. Bangarang by Skrillex is what I listen to when I am upset, whenever I get frustrated I always try to blank out my mind, when I am frustrated I hate thinking, I want my mind to drift into an emptiness, I will always try to fall asleep and forget about everything. Apologize by Timbaland is a song I will never get tired of listening to, I loved it when it first came out and I still do, I will never forget coming home every day from school and just keep replaying the song on Youtube when I was younger, it is one of those songs that I will always sing along to(but in my head, I can’t sing). River Flows in You by Yiruma is my favorite piano song, when I’m trying to fall asleep at night I always have this song on repeat. Hall of fame by The Script is a song that inspires me to try to aim for the highest. Bottom Dollar by D-Pryde is such a uplifting song, this song always has the funniest verses in all the songs I can remember. If I could, I wouldn’t just list Halo by Beyonce, she is such an inspiring person with an amazing voice. Apollolights is a mashup of different artists, although different parts of different songs were used I can’t get enough of Kelly Clarkson. Show Me a Good Time is my favorite Drake song, I can’t explain it but just listening to this song gives me a good time.

A Whole New World — Aladdin Theme Song

This is the song that started it all for me. I am completely in love with musical theatre: singing, acting and performing in general. So for my first ever audition [some crazy mix of Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz] I sang this song.

Breathe — In The Heights

I actually couldn’t find the mp3 for this because it’s a song in a musical and apparently the musical wasn’t popular enough for people to put up the songs. So it’s not on spotify. But I live a really strict, Korean style traditional life at home. I’m the first child, and pretty much everyone expects a certain type of thing from me. This song perfectly portrays my feelings.

When I Was Your Man — Bruno Mars

Just got out of my first, and extremely long, relationship. This song only seemed appropriate. But no, I don’t regret it like Bruno Mars does. There are better guys out there.

Joah — Jay Park

I’m Korean so I love Korean music. This particular one makes me really want to dance… well it makes me LITERALLY dance as some of my friends can testify too. I want a simple love like this.

River Flows In You — Yiruma

It’s just beautiful. Enough said.

I’m a girl with a lot of dreams, and this song really expresses it all. Albeit it is in Korean so those of you that don’t understand Korean might be hard pressed to understand what it means at all. Haha.

These two songs don’t really have anything to do with me at all. I just love them and The Script so much that I felt like I had to put it on my playlist.

Boyfriend — Justin Bieber

Not a JB fan but his voice sounds mighty fine in this song. I’m a sucker for a charming voice.

Family and friends are the most important aspects of my life. In the first picture, my parents purposely took a day off their busy work schedules to come to my graduation. In the second picture, my closest friends and I went to prom together. In the third picture, I went with a supervisor and other interns to many parts of Manhattan to compete with others over who reached more destinations. In the fourth picture, my friends delivered a bouquet of sunflowers to my house to lift my spirits. The fifth picture was taken with my grandma on July 4th before I left to watch the Macy’s fireworks show. The sixth picture is a photo of my friend’s dog, Cashew, that I love dearly. The seventh picture was taken with my main girl friends. We all go to separate schools, but we take time out of our busy school schedules to meet up. To end this slideshow, who can go a day or two without coffee? Thank you for reading my post and I hope to learn more about everyone else by the end of this semester.

I love indie music better than ‘Top 40’s, so you will never find Beyonce nor Justin Bieber in my iTunes. I chose these songs because they’re on my most played playlist. There are 13 songs in my playlist because I couldn’t make up my mind about which song I should cut out, they’re my all-time favorites. My playlist is a mix of different genres because I like listening to all sorts of music (aside from Top 40s).

• Breakbot – One Out of Two

This is the first song I listen to every morning (every time I plug my earphones in, actually). I like this song because it’s got this old, cheery tune that lifts my mood up. Best. Song. Ever.

• The Corrs – Summer Sunshine

I listened to this song the whole time I went on a beach vacation with my friend before coming here.

• Maroon 5 – Daylight
• Hellogoodbye – Here (In Your Arms)
• Sebastien Tellier – La Ritournelle

I think this song is so beautiful despite its gloomy undertones and it’s got a classic feel to it. The artist is a well-known French musician back in France.

• Led Zeppelin – Since I’ve Been Loving You

My father introduced my ears to Led Zeppelin when I was 15 and since then I cannot get enough of Jimmy Page’s mad guitar tunes.

• Oasis – Wonderwall

Really good song by a really awesome band. British rock music should be more popular.

• Foo Fighters – Everlong

Dave Grohl is the most talented musician alive! I personally think this is the best song by Foo Fighters.

• Imogen Heap – Goodnight and Go

This song has the sweetest melody ever. The steel drums and synthesizers just blend so perfectly.

• 2AM Club – Worry About You

This band is different than the Korean pop group 2AM and 2PM, which I think is ridiculous. I like this song because it’s so catchy.

Cindy’s Playlist

We’re suppose to have ten songs but I chose eleven because I couldn’t cut one out haha. I don’t really have much time to listen to music so I chose these songs that caught my eyes at one point or another(or should I say ears?) The first song that I chose was Love on Top by Beyoncé because who doesn’t love Beyoncé?! I thought it was a really sweet song. The second song is Let It be by The Beatles. I first heard it when Justin Bieber sang it on New Year’s but listened to the original and found it wayyyyyy better. The next song is Spectrum by Zedd/Matthew Koma. It’s surprising to people that I would like this song because I don’t really like dance/trance/house music but I LOVE this song. The fourth song that I chose was the remix of Bad  by Wale ft. Rihanna. This one’s kind of explicit but I like the overall sound. Next is When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars. Bruno Mars has such an amazing singing voice for a guy and lovey-dovey/depression lyrics that everyone can relate with. The next song that I chose was Fire by Big Sean. I liked how he rapped, his lyrics, and the beat. The eighth song is Bad Boy by BIGBANG. BIGBANG is a South-Korean 5 member boy band. Before listening to them, I brushed off listening to any K-Pop whatsoever but if you have the time, I suggest you check them out! They’re also from the same label as PSY. The ninth song is Surfer Girl by The Beach Boys. This song reminds me of the hippie days. Next up is Island in the Sun by Weezer. I would say out of all the songs that I chose within this playlist, this would be my absolute favorite song. I love everything about it and the music video as well. The final song Here Comes the Sun by Yuna is also one of my favorites. It’s a cover of The Beatles version.

I like listening to new music and whenever I have the time I try to branch out. In a nutshell these songs show who I am because they range from different genres and have different meanings.

These eight pictures are of people, and dogs in my life that make me who I am today. I am very family and friend oriented, and I will do anything for my family and friends. The first picture is of the two dogs that keep me going and help me wake up every morning (literlly!). The small one in the front is Snoopy, we just got him last year and the bigger one in the back is Kuma; we’ve had him for 8 years. The second picture is the four girls that remind me that I am perfect the way I am, and I don’t need to change anything for anyone. They accept me who I am, and make sure I stay happy. The third picture is of the group of friends that everyone is looking for in life, and I have found. They are a no secrets, no drama group and that is just what I need! The fourth picture is of my favorite night, with my favorite person. Prom night was so important to me because a. I planned it, and b. everyone dropped all there drama and came together as a class to celebrate our graduation. The fifth picture is of the most important people in my life, my family. The 6th picture is of me! After I finally convinced my mom to let me color my hair. The 7th picture is of my playful parents who I wish more than anything to help retire. The last picture is of my sister, Brenda, who would do anything for me and I would do anything for her. I love my family and my friends and that’s what represents the kind of person I am.
