About me:

Hi, my name is Youngsoo Shin and I have no other name I go by. I was born in South Korea, and moved to New York at the age of three. Currently I attend Baruch College as a freshmen. I would like to explain what my slideshow represented. The assignment was to show in eight slides, what I believe people view me as. First, most people know that I loves sports, mainly volleyball, basketball and football. In the beginning of each semester, most classes start of by describing yourself. For me, sports is always part of my description because you simply can’t “know” me unless you know that I love sports. Some people never knew about the pets I had, probably because I only talk about them when I talk about animals. But basically I had a baby shark that grew too big for the tank and had to be given back to the pet store for them to take care of. The same goes for my pet snake; I forgot what kind of snake it was since it was many years ago. Currently I have a baby husky that was bought recently. One thing I love to do is travel, mostly because of the different attractions in each country I have been to. Some of the places I visited were Greece, Paris, Ecuador, South Korea and much more. One thing I love to watch are TV-Shows and movies. People consider these a waste of time for a college student, but it is honestly the only thing that keeps my day going. Mostly I watch whatever is on TV, and occasionally go to movie theaters with friends. As much as I love to watch shows and movies, I love to eat all sorts of new foods. I love trying exotic foods that I never heard of before, which creates all sorts of excitement. My favorite type of food is Italian, mostly because I love pasta and pizza. Many of my friends are scared of heights, but I always love a good time in amusement parks. In Six Flags, my favorite ride is Nitro while my other favorites are El Toro, Kingda Ka and Superman. During my free time, I like to catch up on missed work. But if there is literally nothing to do, I will go to sleep. Sleep is relaxing and I can be on my bed the whole day.

Hi everyone, my name is Kevin Ko. I am an easy guy to talk to, if you ever have any problems in life and just need someone to talk to, I’m always here to help. I am a middle child with an older and younger brother. We all look the same, especially our hairstyle. My main interests are working out, sleeping, eating, and spending money. I started working out since the end of high school and it became a part of my daily routine. I never thought there would be so many benefits to exercising and lifting. You would be doing things, you thought you were never be able to do. I feel everyone loves sleeping, its a way to relax. I, sometimes, even skip homework so I can get my sleep. I watch what I eat but there is always one day of the week where I would eat anything I want and as much as I want. There is no food that is considered my favorite because there is too much good food out in this world. I’m a big fan of spending money even if I know I’ll regret spending my money on something, I’ll still buy it. The one person that I have always been looking up to is my dad. When I grow up, I hope I end up just the way he is, hardworking, smart, caring, loving, and funny.

About Me – Daphne Lam

Posted by Daphne Lam in Uncategorized

Music is a big part of my life and always will be. I love listening to music to keep myself from boredom and stress. When I have a lot of homework to do for school, I normally turn up the volume and do my homework and listen to music at the same time. I love listening to pop songs, especially covers of songs. I love it because I get to become the audience of a YouTube singer, which makes the experience more personal. I think that the YouTube singers are experimenting with their own songs and different songs to see their own personal tastes. I find it very interesting to discover what sort of songs YouTube artists would sing, whether originals or covers.

The first song, by Megan Lee and another Korean artist, is called Oppa. I don’t really have a reason behind it, but I just like listening to Megan Lee and her Korean singing, although I’m not Korean and I can’t understand anything. The second song, Are You Happy Now? by Megan and Liz is very meaningful to me because it shows that we must not bully others. The music video is also something I would like to share, but you’d probably have to search it on YouTube… Best Friend, by Jason Chen, is about loving your best friend. Although that’s not the case for me, I just like listening to songs from China, too. There is an English version, but I decided to put up the Chinese version, because, well, I’m Chinese 😀 Made in America by Cimorelli is also another one of my favorite songs. I was stuck on this song for about a month during summer because I am an American, born in Florida. Although I don’t actually go big and celebrate Fourth of July, it just feels nice to listen to this song representing America. Apink is a Korean girl group and I really like their song NoNoNo. Although I can’t understand it, I love listening and watching the music video. Old School Love reminds me of the past ways people used to date. Now, dating is like going through text messages or just kissing in the hallways, but I really respect the “old school” ways of dating and how girls would have crushes and guys would be all cute and ask girls on dates 😀 Summer Forever, by Megan Nicole, is one of my favorite songs for the summer because, who doesn’t want summer to end? I love her music video and her voice. Jason Chen sings Thank You, which is important to me because I would like to thank everyone that’s been there for me… It really depicts what I would say to my family and best friends. I love Boyce Avenue’s cover with Fifth Harmony in When I Was Your Man. I really loved their collaboration and finally, we have Fifth Harmony singing Miss Movin’ On. I love the strong attitude of the five girls.

I am Kevin Liu. There are many things I like to do. They include basketball, swimming, listening to music and playing games. I made a music playlist of 10 songs that I enjoy to listen to. I like listening to music whenever and wherever. When I am bored, I listen to music. When I am stressed out, I listen to music. Also whenever I am in a bad mood I also listen to music. Music just makes me feel relaxed and not think about anything else. I like to listen to all types of songs as long as it sounds good. Music is my second entertainment after my first which is my phone. It is a great way for one to just listen to music in their leisure time. Many times I come up with many ideas I would have never thought of without music. It is great because music can make people express oneself. Without music, I feel that I would not have made it through the tough times I have encountered in my life.

Pamela Pan ^_^

What I’ve created in the eight image slideshow represents who I, Pamela Pan, am. First, I love pictures and how it captures moments of my life everywhere and anywhere I go. I like making a collage because I like to not only document and save memories onto photos, but I also like to take hold of all my photos and organize it into one big representation of myself. I had leadership skills in my high school career where I was club leader of the Asian Cultural Club and a peer advisor for freshman in high school. I was a club leader for one of the biggest clubs in my school; taking responsibility of club meetings and club performances. However, aside from the more professional role in the club, I enjoyed all my dancing experiences I had in the club. I have danced when I was a little kid back in elementary school, but as I was in high school, I continued on with my interest in dancing. I participated in modern dances (hip hop, k-pop, & tutting) as well as more traditional dances (fan dance, ribbon dance, & folk dancing). I really love caring about others and always wanted a pet so I could care and show love to him; this is why I got a dog. His name is coco and I named him after the Japanese black cat under the same brand as hello kitty. I love giving my dog hugs even though he is just a small pet and I take plenty of photos with him from time to time. Listening to music when I am alone is one thing I really enjoy doing because it helps me concentrate on my own thoughts and it’s my way of relaxing whenever needed. Its also a good representation of how I am as a person; I tend to have my own moments when I am alone and not care about anything or see anyone I know walking past me. I used to be a more athletic girl before I attended high school; I enjoyed playing all kinds of sports. When I started high school, I only joined the indoor track team once and I rarely won a medal for running, but only for speed walking. I also joined the tennis team for two years; I enjoyed having myself stay active and attend practices occasionally. After joining the team, I began to play tennis more on my own leisure time. I am not the best tennis player, but I am willing to let myself stay active and get better. My last and most short, but memorable experience I had was going Trapezing because I love physical challenges and experiences.
