Better late than never…

Soooo my name is Vincent Carannante and I’m honestly not that interesting.

My main interests/hobbies are sports, music, and cars.

My favorite place to be is Manhattan. I love the everything about it. I hope to one day live and work there.

I like the Yankees, Jets, Knicks, and Rangers.

I listen to any type of music, I don’t have a favorite.

That’s me in a nut shell.

sooo here are some pictures of me, my friends and family, my favorite places to be, and some other stuff I like.

I uploaded more than 20 photos because I had such a hard time deciding which photos to use, since I have so many. I absolutely love photography and take pictures every chance I get. I love preserving memories and then being able to look back and smile at good times with loved ones. I wish I could have one of those big Nikon cameras but for now I make do with my digital one.

I love to travel, and even though I’ve only been to Moscow so far, I hope to travel around the world someday. My friend even bought me a giant map with pins so I could label all the cities I’ll go to. I also love food, which is a weakness of mine but I don’t care because it’s amazing. I will eat anything and everything. I love to try new foods and restaurants, which are easy to find in New York City.  My dream job would be to just travel and eat, so hopefully my time at Baruch leads me to something in that direction.

I think New York City is such an amazing place and I am so fortunate to have been raised nearby and now get to travel here almost every day. I can’t wait until the day I get to live here. Although I have a long commute, I don’t mind it much because every time I come out of Battery Tunnel, I am filled with complete awe at this breathtaking city. Central Park is one of the most spectacular sites, and no matter how many times I’ve been there I’m still amazed at the beauty this city holds.

I don’t really have any serious passions but there are many things I enjoy doing. I like to play tennis just for fun. My favorite part of high school was being on the tennis team because I shared so many victories and memories with some of my best friends and the most extraordinary coach. Just in general, I like engaging in adventurous exercises and sports. I’ve gone zip lining, kayaking, cliff jumping, white water rafting, rock-climbing, ice-skating, skiing, jet skiing, hiking, and hope to do much more. I’m not much of a theatre junkie, but I adore Broadway shows, ballets, and musical performances. For now, Wicked is my all time favorite Broadway musical. I always end up involving myself in activities that relate to my Russian heritage. My background defines who I am and whether its performing a Russian dance at the multicultural show, campaigning for political figures in the Russian community, or working at a Russian supermarket, I always find ways to surround myself with Russian people and culture.

My personality is extremely easy going. I will laugh at practically anything, especially when it’s not appropriate to be laughing.  I laugh when I’m happy, angry, sad, and even physically in pain because why not. I don’t take most things seriously because I see no reason to be solemn when you can just laugh it off and move on with your day. I also love making other people laugh, even though I’m not funny. I can be extremely critical, but at the same time I love to give compliments because everybody deserves to feel good about themselves once in a while. So if you get a compliment from me you know it’s the honest truth. Overall, I love to have a good time and my ultimate goal in life is to just be happy, as difficult as that may be.

Get to know me

What up? My name is Alex DelGaudio. I like to think of myself as a Renaissance man. I am a GQ model. I keep in touch with my emotion, through poetry and interpretative dance. I cook gourmet meals for the president. I’ve trained Lebron James. I directed the play, Wicked, on Broadway. I came up with the name, ‘Apple Computers’. I beat Chuck Norris in an arm wrestling contest. Mila Kunis calls my cellphone WAY too often. My Christmas tree is ALWAYS bigger than the one in Rockefeller center. Nick Gonzalez

Howdy I’m Nick Wait-for-it Gonzalez-san Miguel del Rio Sanchez the 1st esquire. I enjoy long walks on the beach assisting sick animals and helping old people who have fallen and can’t get up. Over the many years spending my time with the co-inhabitants of this planet I have accumulated a variety of friends and acquaintances that share my interests and helped develop me into the person you see before you. If I had to compare myself to a beast of the wild I share common traits of that of the noble lion. We’re both prideful beings driven by passion, desire and the sanctity of our pride. Just as the lion pounces upon a wild gazelle I equally take upon myself the ferocity of a lion in attacking any challenge of the human condition.  I aspire to be a exotic male dancer because of it performance implications. Quick easy money accompanied by a large following….the life. My coaches often called me unorthodox in my style of doing things. On the wrestling mat I often thought of myself as a gladiator in an arena and whoever was sent out against me was another person I needed to remove from my coliseum. To me every battle was an opportunity to become a champion in my own mind. I have been called many a great thing… I have also been called a lot of other things I’m not permitted to share on a public website. Despite anyone else’s perception of me I know who I am, I am me and I love who I am, I am Nick Gonzalez.

I’m Liana, and I always find these introductions awkward. I’ve always thought that a list of interests and activities is in no way representative of a person, but hey, we might as well try, right?

First and foremost, I love music. I’ll listen to pretty much everything, honestly. My collection ranges from Gram Parsons and Johnny Cash, to Wu-Tang, to MGMT and Vampire weekend, to Michel Telo, to Sam Cooke. There will always be a special place in my heart for the late 70’s and early 80’s- specifically Bowie, Talking Heads, Velvet Underground, and Bruce Springsteen. I’m also notoriously horrible with playlists, so what I’ve attached doesn’t exactly reflect my taste. It’s mainly summer music, because technically we still have a week left, and I refuse to let the weather convince me otherwise.

Aforementioned lousy playlist.

Literature is really the only thing I would call a “passion” of mine, even though I think it sounds pretty pretentious. I have a never ending love-affair with Kurt Vonnegut, but I also love Fitzgerald (specifically Tender is the Night), Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Jack Kerouac, Gabriel Garcia-Marquez, and Oscar Wilde. While I love Whitman, Lorca, and Edna St. Vincent Millay , I’m not too well-versed in the realm of poetry (bad pun, I’m sorry), so if anyone has suggestions, I’m open to everything.

I’m super into tennis, which seems like the most boring way to get whiplash to most, but I honestly love everything about it. I’m (unfortunately) a Mets fan, and get free tickets the whole season, so if anyone wants to go, (for the last, what, three games of the season?) you should hit me up!

Academically, I love government and current events, but it frustrates me to no end. While I’ll alway be extremely invested in it, I don’t know if I could subject myself to a lifetime of gridlock and political games. I hope to study abroad in South America, but usually you have to know what you’re doing to get approved, right?

If there’s one thing that could be said about me, it’s that I never know what I’m doing.

I basically just like to go wherever life takes me and enjoy the ride. I smile in response to almost everything and laugh to the point of tears with alarming frequency. I rarely say no to anything, and welcome every new opportunity.

So I guess this is me as of 10 am on September 19, 2013. See y’all in an hour.

Angela Tan

Hi, I’m Angela and apparently, I don’t sleep. I don’t know why I’m up right now at 2:00 AM doing this blog post. I’m going to feel like a zombie tomorrow. I shouldn’t complain, though, because even during the summertime I would stay up till 2 AM for no reason whatsoever. I guess I’m just a night person.

I like how quiet it is at night, when the whole house is asleep except for you. It’s also the best time to listen to music, because you can hear every last detail. Music is the most beautiful thing to me. I went to Laguardia High School, where I majored in instrumental flute music, and it has just changed me forever. I remember when I was in the 9th grade, I told my mom that if I could be anything, I would be a professional flutist in an orchestra. However, after seeing so many Juilliard concerts and getting more exposed to music, I realized how competitive the music industry is, and how you truly have to be a prodigy to make it, unless you want to end up as a “starving artist”.

So here I am at Baruch. I’ve realized that I do have other interests besides music. I’m interested in the field of business, and I want to understand how the global economy works. I like a fast-paced environment, and hope to travel and work overseas one day. I haven’t given up on the flute yet. My ideal life would be to have the best of both worlds, to work in business full time while being involved in a community orchestra during the weekend or something.

It is my dream to be able to play the Chaminade Concertino perfectly one day; it’s what I practice nowadays in my spare time in the kitchen when I’m waiting for the pot of water to boil so I can make soup. (I hate wasting time) I’m a very open-minded person, especially when it comes to music. I’m not a religious person at all, and yet I think the Chichester Psalm 23 is stunning. I really do listen to everything.

My name’s Alexandra Lopez.  Writing about myself isn’t one of my best skills but here goes.  Im Colombian and extremely proud of it.  I went to Brooklyn Tech HS, but I still wont rep Brooklyn: Queens all day!  I can be kind of quiet when I don’t know people but that changes once I get comfortable.  Ive been told I can be very sarcastic but its not purposely.  Im very opinionated especially if I feel strongly about the subject. I will sit there and argue for hours.  I know what I want and ill do what I have to to get where I want to be.  I have varied interests and I like to try new things.  My music tastes reflects me because theres a little bit of everything.  Its a little random but it made sense to me.

Hey peoples! My name is Asif Kamal. I love playing soccer and football. I’m really open-minded and and accepting of any ideology, way of life, lifestyle, whatever you want to call it. I know it’s a real cliche but I feel like it’s something that a lot of people say because of social pressure and don’t necessarily mean it. That’s another thing about me you should know; when I say something, I mean it but don’t let that scare you I’m a really nice guy and I love having conversations and connecting with people. I reI really don’t know what i want to be or what I want to major in right now but I hope that with some deep soul searching I’ll be able to find out what I want to do/be. One thing I really want to do though is to travel around the world and help people along the way whether I achieve this by volunteering with the Peace Corp or by myself is still in the works. Enjoy the playlist, hopefully you’ll find some of the stuff on it really cool.

Hello!! I am Adiba. Well, I went to Francis Lewis, I loved it there.I learned Japanese, Spanish and how to navigate through crowded hallways. This summer I travelled all over the country from Pennsylvania to Florida to Georgia and everywhere in between. I still don’t know what I want to major in but I know that, eventually, I want to work for a human rights organization like Amnesty International. I am also an obsessive lister, so I’ll just list the things I like: summer, poetry, jewelry, dogs, cats Christmas carols, polka dots, bows, sun, stars and sleep.

That’s it and here is a playlist:http://open.spotify.com/user/1245438562/playlist/1LnKWVtDYkv2nYLm6M97Pu

Idle Hands are the Devil’s Work

My name is Christopher Wassif and I’m just trying to get the most out of life. The pictures posted speak to many aspects of me, and what I do for fun, directly and indirectly. My passions include scuba diving, fishing, boating, anything centered around the ocean. While ocean adventures are my first choice, I also pursue adventures of other varieties. I am en route to a pilot’s license and am a firm believer that adventure can be found nearly anywhere. Most of the pictures taken were in NYC/ Long Island and vary from 5 minutes to 2 hours away from my home in Brooklyn. In terms of my personality, diving is a very technical sport that requires a lot of careful planning and execution; but at the same time, has a surreal, almost dreamlike quality while exploring underwater. Similarly, I am a very methodical person, that likes to plan things out, but I still dream and often feel that, compared to those around me, my head is very far in the clouds. To me, my car represents the actualization of a childhood dream, as I’ve wanted a Mustang for as long as I can remember. It also represents freedom, as all of the adventures shown in the other pictures would not have been possible without my own car. Finally, it represents responsibility and the hard work that comes with it.  I worked hard to get the car, and I continue to work to pay for insurance, maintenance, gas and anything else that it requires. I am a strong believer in individuality and personal fulfillment, I try not to get stressed over the small details of life and instead just try to go with the flow. I always have many plans, (like moving to an island),  but at the end of the day, I never really know where I am headed, which is exciting. I am in school for Real Estate Development, another passion of mine, to say the least… but who knows, maybe one day (after a successful development career), I’ll just become a fisherman.
