Monologue (post #2)

For four years I have been hearing the same words “when you get to college…” and all I could do is imagine what that means. I feel like everyone can relate to those words. Well, here we are we made it to college, now what? No one really ever knows what to expect when coming to college. There is no guideline to tell us how to get used to this new place. As Freshmen we all share the same feelings. Some of us are scared, some are excited, and some of us can’t really describe how we feel. I was definitely not as excited as some of my friends were about going to college. I was not a fan that I have to go to this place were I barely know anybody. My friends always asked if I was okay with the idea of commuting and I said yeah should be easy. HELL NO. Commuting is a b****. But I guess I got used to it. Then convocation day came and everything was starting to come together. I felt that I was not alone on this journey. It was actually comforting because we were all starting from the same point. No one really knew each other, but as classes went on that started to change. College has been an interesting journey so far and its going to be interesting where it is going to take me.

Getting to know Simona Kazinets

Hello, everybody my name is Simona Kazinets and I hope maybe after reading this you might get to know me a little bit better. I just started attending Baruch this fall and I hope in the future to major in business. To back track, I came here about 8 years ago to a small town called Fair Lawn in New Jersey. Some of you might know where it is if I tell you its by the Garden State Plaza mall. So, I came here from Israel knowing absolutely no English. With the years to come I started to pick up the language and now I’m able to add it to the number of languages I can speak (Hebrew and Russian). I have a younger brother who sometimes gets on my nervous but no how annoying he gets I still love him. Now that you know some of my background, I hope some of you share the same interests and likes that I do. Watching movies is what I live for, its something that I’m really into and probably do almost every weekend. Right now I’m obsessed with Frozen but let’s be real who is not! I love the movie world and basically the whole “hollywood” world. I’m also really into basketball and my team is the Knicks, (yes, I know they aren’t doing so well right now but just give them time) I actually got to watch them last year on my birthday. Travelling is also something that I love. I got to go to London and Italy this year and both of those places were extremely beautiful. High school was a crazy experience and I’m looking forward to making this college experience as best as it can be.
