ELIAS ELIAS ELIAS ELIAS ELIAS ELIAS

My first three months at Baruch have been mediocre. T.I. would not approve. I know that I’m getting what’s considered a really good education, especially when factoring in the cost, but Baruch is just so BORING. Going to a “commuter school” sucks, and whenever I stay for the weekend at my friends’ schools and have a great time, it just makes me realize what I’m missing. A lot of people have been complaining about how much work we have. I don’t think its that we have a lot of work as much as it is that we don’t have a lot of time to do our work. My commute takes about an hour and a half each way – that’s THREE HOURS wasted every day, and I know some of us have an even longer commute. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we get home late and just have no energy or desire to actually do our work. I chose a meme that relates to this point. I’m here regardless however, and all I can do is make the most of my time here and try to be the best I can be, and I know that once I graduate, I’ll be saying that I wish I was still at Baruch.

Hello Yiayia, I’ve missed you so much

Oh, how it feels to be embraced by your clutch.

We need to catch up, there’s so much to say

Take a look at my calendar, I put a mark on this day.

With the whole summer ahead, there’s so much to do,

I’m just so happy that I can spend it with you.

—————————————

Time flew by, now the summer is at its end

Oh, how I wish time would just extend.

Your eyes fill with tears, because now you know

The time has finally come for me to go.

You tell me I may not find you when I return,

Tell me no way to know when God’ll say it’s your turn.

But I’ll come back every summer, as long as you’re here,

Goodbye Yiayia, I’ll see you next year.

It was tough narrowing this down to just eight photos. I threw in a baby pic to start 🙂 LOOK AT THOSE CHEEKS! Next, I have a picture of me and my boys, because friendship is important to me and I miss those guys, especially those who go away to school. After that I have a picture of a beach. I love going to the beach in the summer, and that is the nicest beach I’ve been to in Greece. I love the picture with the sunset over the mountains in Greece. The beautiful serenity depicted in it relates to me because I’m always very calm and laid-back. The picture of me staring off into the distance is in there because I just like thinking to myself and often get lost in my own thoughts. I have a picture taken from a plane because I love traveling to new places and experiencing different ways of life. The next picture is one taken from the top of a mountain looking down on the tiny village I’m from in Greece. That place is my second home and I can’t even describe how much it means to me; I love going back every summer. Finally, I have a picture from the back of a sailboat looking back at the island. This depicts the point of my life that I’m at right now – looking back at the old and ready to start the new.
