The first images describes how I sad I feel that Baruch isn’t a really big/well known college outside the city. I knew that when I applied and was okay with that. However,I did not realize how much I wanted to go to a big school with a lot of sports teams and huge school spirit, until I came to Baruch, which has none of these things. It would also be nice to see my college in Victoria’s Secret Collegiate Apparel to make me feel like my college is official haha.

The second image describes how poor my time management skills are for the most point. Although, the workload so far is not as challenging as I thought it would be, I still “love” to leave everything for the last minute. I know that as my college career progresses I will get better and hopefully master the skill of efficient time management, because if not I’m not sure how I’ll ever graduate.

Overall, my experience at Baruch has been a pleasant surprise and I’ve made many new cool friends.

As the sun rises, I rise

The sun sets I remain

The moon rises

I lay

Still

Awake

Thinking about the past day

My mind circling about the days events

So many shootings, another fatal car crash, are we really going to war again?

Thoughts like these provoke my mind while I should be getting sleep

Are my children okay?

I hate when my son stays out all night

I hope my daughter would expand her diet beyond spicy hot Chex-Mix and m&ms

I wish my husband and son would stop arguing all the time

Thoughts like these provoke my mind while I should be getting sleep

Lastly, when Iv’e done enough worrying for the night, I pray

I pray for my family and friends

For my daughter, to do well on her tests

For my son to continue on the work that he does

For all those who are sick and struggling

To stop the war and fighting

and for me to fall asleep

Before I know it, the sun rises

I rise.

The first photo I put was of me and my parents because they have supported me through a lot and continue to be there for me, especially my mother. I also put pictures of my brother and cousins because I am a very family-oriented person. My family means a lot to me especially my younger cousins. I love how they look up to me and I try to be a good role model for them and I enjoy watching them grow up. They are so smart and full of life and always bring me joy every time I see them.

In addition, I put a music related picture because I love music. I may not play an instrument or anything but music has helped me get through some of the toughest times and always helps me endure boring tasks such as cleaning and homework. Without music, and especially my iPod, I’m not sure I would have made it through my last two years of high school.

Also, I put a picture of me sleeping while writing when I was little and a Baruch bearcat logo. I put this photo up because it has many elements to it. For instance, it represents how I’m always working and studying for school that I often fall asleep with my work. It also shows my pride for being a part of the Baruch community and being a new college member.

Lastly, I put a picture of me and a whole bunch of my friends. Many of these people I have known for almost half my life and have a deep bond because we grew up together.  However, I am glad to be having a fresh start and look forward to making new friends at Baruch. Although, I won’t be seeing many of my other friends as often as before and some of us will grow apart, I am grateful for the experiences we shared and the bonds we formed. Without them I probably wouldn’t have gotten through high school too nor would I be the person I am today.
