Alexei Mitchell Blog Post #3

The website that I got this meme from is posted at the bottom of the picture.

I came across this meme during my first semester at Baruch and couldn’t believe how accurate it was. One of the most important things I learned during my first semester at Baruch is that college textbooks are a complete and total waste of money. First of all, the the textbooks are almost never used. The most important part of each class is taking good notes, and not spending your time reading a boring textbook. I spent the first few weeks of school reading an endless number of textbook pages and wondering why I knew absolutely nothing on the day of the test. I stopped using my textbooks and started using my notes half way through the semester, and my grades reflected the change in a positive way. However, the are those rare times when textbooks are actually needed for class. In those cases, almost every textbook can be found for free online. In a nutshell, textbooks are expensive, unnecessary, and a complete waste of time.
