Blogpost #3

I don't need that shit.

This picture accurately sums up my entire life in school and I am beyond glad it’s the same case in college. I’ve always done good without studying and before coming to Baruch everyone kept rambling on about how college was going to be much more tough and how I’ll need to bury myself in a book all the time. Baruch hasn’t been as hard as I thought so far but I’m pretty sure that’ll change since the classes can only get tougher. The first few months have taught me a variety of things whether it be time management or the best halal cart in a 5 block radius. My only hope for my future at Baruch is that I get to keep my not studying and acing all tests ability because studying blows. I don’t need that shit.

Monologue

The Up’s and Down’s of Life

You know what really grinds my gears,

And always brings me tears,

A crowded 6 train,

I end up standing between Peter Griffin and Fat Joe,

They don’t use deodorant and I’m just like “aw hell no,”

But you know what else grinds my gears,

Writing a monologue that takes me years,

And then making me present it,

But it’s not like it’s one of my greatest fears,

I just really don’t care about connecting with my peers,

I may seem like a hate everything,

But I’m a human being,

I like puppies, and shake shack, and traveling,

And I have things on my bucket list,

Like touching a stingray and skydiving,

And I’m gonna do those things otherwise I’ll be pissed,

It’s hard loving life and being a misanthrope,

Nah I’m just kidding my life is pretty dope,

But I’m not trying to be arrogant or condescending,

So before I make a fool outta myself I’m gonna go ahead and call this the ending.

Hello Professor Weigel,

I was wondering if I get more feedback on my research paper regarding Shakespeare in hopes to improve my writing. Could we come up with a time to meet around your schedule?

Sincerely,

Daoud Ahmed

Who am I, I’m the type of person who would keep the word count to a minimum on an assignment like this. I think that in a world where everyone is so exposed, the best thing you can become is a mystery. I’m not one to share my character on a something as simple as a blog post and frankly, it would take to long, obviously you can see there’s a bit of arrogance mixed in there but I promise it only gets better. To start off with this playlist I chose Eminem’s song “Lose Yourself” because I definitely seize my opportunities which is really the only way to get what you want, I feel like this song explains the beginning of my journey to success. On top of that “Renegade” was added to the list because unlike many other people i’m not afraid to say what I want to say even if it doesn’t conform with society’s standards. The next five songs highlight that up in the clouds romantic, so hopefully you can find true love and have millions in your bank account at the same time. After that, “Can’t Tell Me Nothin'” is more of an insight to my philosophy rather than my arrogance. Sure money can’t buy happiness but I believe in order to experience life at its fullest one must be wealthy. You need money to travel the world, try new things, drive fast cars, etc. and that song highlights my feelings towards that limitation put on us. “Good Life” would be the part where I actually become successful and gain the ability to break free of those previously stated limitations. To top it all off, “Who Gon’ Stop Me” is really my way of saying that nothing can get in my way when it comes to my goals.
