monologue

BROWN BOY

When I stepped into to Penn it all seemed ominous

One day I’ll be here I said I’d be

Chasing profits but not the type Muhammad is

I wanted to fall in love with the city and all the sounds in it

Make my way down Broadway never check what time it is

So much to explore so much to see

Doing things as they were meant to be

At least for me

Small town boy in a big city

I still can’t believe I can be this free

(Although my town isn’t that small)

Lots of roads there

Lots of snow there

Starbucks and white people

Brown People and smart people

Too much people not enough known

Indian food Indian boy

Indian beats Indian toys

Indian hate brown boy

Don’t blame anyone though

Not my fault that’s on you

So its cool don’t worry about it

You smell like curry

You don’t think I noticed

Well you smell like

Pig s*** white boy

And you smell like tacos Mexican

And you smell like curry other brown guy

They didn’t like me

Not cause I was brown

We just didn’t like each other

Realized that a little too late

No worries though

I was doing the same

In all seriousness

Of course I made fun of the retarded boy

How do you not laugh when you saw him RKO a garbage can on top of the lunch table

All your life they tell you to be nice

F*** that if its funny im gonna laugh

Thats who I am I don’t want to feel bad about anyone

Cause if we started doing that no one would do anything

Im glad I stunk like fried onions

You made me understand that im different

Brown boy in a brown world
