For my English class, my classmates and I took a trip to the Whitney Museum. As I left the train to walk towards the Whitney Museum, I realized that it was a rich neighborhood filled with steak houses and fashion stores. The museum itself has a very modern aesthetic to it. The whole outer layer of the museum was made out of glass and you can see the interior. As I got into a line for my ticket, a nice lady greeted me and told me that CUNY students get into the museum for free. After I got my ticket, I took the elevator into the 7th floor. The entire 7th floor was crowded and I couldn’t see that art exhibit, so I decided to take the stairs to down to one of the other exhibits. There was a exhibit of classical arts in the 6th floor, and I was particularly intrigued by the art “Poker Night”. I then went to the 5th floor where I was greeted by two fellow classmates. The exhibit was of protest against racism and the Vietnam war. It was the only exhibit that has works of art on the floor of the exhibit. After 2 hours of exploring the museum, the entire class met up at the bag check. It was overall a pretty good experience because I haven’t been to the museum is a long time.

Monologue
I still have to write my monologue
And I only have 5 minutes left
But the joke’s on you
This is the easiest assignment possible
They said I could write about anything
And so I will
I’m writing all this nonsense
Yet I’m still completing the task
And I’m completing this task
By writing more nonsense
And yes I did just repeat myself
But I still need more words
Most people wrote poems
So I’ll give my best effort
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Lemons are yellow
Oranges are orange
I still got two minutes to spare
And I hope I wrote enough to satisfy
I just clicked on word count on google docs
It said I have 106 words
And now it’s 120 words
I think after this assignment
I’m going to appreciate FRO more
Only one minute left

Bloomberg Workshop
Attending my first workshop in Baruch. I didn’t quite know what I was attending. All I knew was that I had to attend a workshop in order to write this blog, and that I was following my friends. Upon arrival, there were only 10 designated stations that had the specialized program called “Bloomberg”. The program itself costs $24,000 a year. The stations were also accompanied by specialized Bloomberg keyboards as well. There was well over 10 students within that workshop, so we had to share between 2-3 students per station.
For a bit of background to what Bloomberg is, Bloomberg is a professional service that provides financial software tools. The financial software tools are such as an analytics and equity trading platform, data services, and news to financial companies and organizations through the Bloomberg Terminal.
The instructor of the workshop was teaching us how to navigate through the program itself. He showed us how to open data, equity, and charts that show the companies history. There are certain keys that you can type as a shortcut to navigate through the program. He then told us to look at the history chart of a specific company. He then proceeded to teach us on how to transfer the data from chart onto Microsoft Excel.
The instructor was patient, and went around the room helping those who were struggling to follow his instructions. The course itself did not teach us how to analyze the data or what the information presented meant. The only thing we learned was how to navigate through the program, and how to transfer the information. Overall I found the workshop to be quite useless for someone who doesn’t have a core fundamental understanding.
Baruch ESA Blog#1
The Baruch ESA Club doesn’t ring too far from home. When I was in high school, I was a part of a similar club. Although I had already plan to go to other clubs that would serve a more practical purpose in helping my college experience, a few of my friends who are upperclassmen, are already a part of this club. I had only plan to visit this club for the first few minutes before I would move on to meeting the other clubs.
One of the perks of joining this club is that you are allowed to access a computer lab, which has a set of high end computers. My friend who was a part of the ESA division one team told me that I would only have to join for a few minutes, and I would be given the rights to the computer lab.
Although I did intend to only stay for a few minutes, I decided to give my respect and stayed for the entire presentation before moving on to seeing other clubs. The club was in a small room, not enough seats for all of the members, however it is a friendly community. Everyone who was a part of this club already knew the interest of others. After the presentation was the refreshments, pizza from 7-eleven, which I personally only took one bite.
Overall it is a club that I could relate to. The environment, and the gaming culture of the people around the club are of familiar territory. I am searching for a new experience as I embark into the life of Baruch. This club is not my first choice, but I was able to kill two birds with one stone. Access to the computer labs and the experience to write this blog.
