I am currently trying to decide what career path I want to follow. I am very interested in science but business intrigues me as well. I was very excited to attend the career fair because I knew it would help me make my decision. I was blown away by the vast amount of companies there were, I did not even know where to start. Being able to learn about what certain jobs entail and how each company differs really gave me the insight I needed. I had the chance to speak to a representative from Friedman, she was really nice and she told me about her experience and why she choose her career.
The atmosphere was very professional and everybody was driven and focused. It was important that you came dressed professionally, with a resume, and with questions. It was a great opportunity and I’m glad Baruch holds such event. Everyone should take advantage of these career fairs.

Metropolitan Museum of Art
I recently visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art and I was captivated by all the history it holds. I went to the Egyptian and Greek/Roman exhibits, they both were filled with hundreds of ancient artifacts. My favorite display was the Temple of Dendur, part of the Egyptian exhibit. One side of the room was just windows, letting in natural light, allowing the beauty of the temple to really be seen. I really liked that I was allowed to walk inside part of the temple, I felt as if I was a part of history.
Museums can sometimes be boring but because the MET holds so much history I found it interesting. The artifacts are from so long ago, times were completely different. It intrigues me that we have these pieces of history to learn from. The sculptures in the Greek/ Roman exhibit were beautiful, it was cool to learn about their style and culture.
Baruch’s Loft Party
On August 31st, I attended Baruch’s Loft Party and I can say that it fit my expectations (which weren’t very high). Knowing that the event was being held at Baruch and hosted by the USG I automatically threw the idea of it being a typical college party out of the window. The amount of students who came out did surprise me. It was nice to see freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors all come together for a good time. You could clearly see the diversity throughout the school and it made me realize how many new people and new opportunities Baruch has to offer. The DJ had to cater to many different music tastes so the music varied throughout the night but overall he kept everyone happy. They had games such as chess and jenga that a lot of people seemed to enjoy. Even though I wished the loft party fit more of the “college party” standards I still enjoyed meeting new people and spending time with my friends.
