I went to the Majors and Minors Fair on the 9th of November. I went to explore what I should major in as I am still undecided. I thought I wanted to do Business Communications along wih something else. However double majoring seems difficult. I also learned that Business Communications is in the Weissman School, but I had already started my pathway to the Zicklin School. I may change my plan to minor in Communications and focus on something in Zicklin, such as Management. Overall, the fair helped me realize that my plan was incomplete and I have to put more thought into it. Everyone was nice, and wanted students to come to their departments. Although I didn’t get to every table, since come were really crowded, I have a better understanding of the requirements of most the departments. In the end, I was able to take a picture with the Beartcat along with Elizabeth.

Metropolitan/Intrepid Museum
I went to two museums using my college ID. One being the Art History trip along with majority of the class. It was interesting to see Egyptian art in real life rather than a screen in class. It was valuable to see the effects of time on the art works personally. As many of the sculptures were chipped and cracked. Some even had a laregly visible portion missing. I like the change in setting, like how they used a yellow-orangeish dim lighting to reflect the artwork, and also a way of trying to further preserve it from aging. I also went to the Intrepid Musuem for the college night. However it was not as interesting as I thought it would be. But in fact I got there quite early, and left only after 30 minutes, because it was moving along slowly. I do recognize the fact that more people came after I left, but I already explored the most of the museum after the 30 minutes. Overall, I realize I like art museums the most.
Student Life
For the first week of Baruch, I didn’t consider what clubs to join that well. Even at the club fair, there were too many I wanted to join. Needing to use the bathroom, I stumbled upon the fitness center, which I decided to give a try, since I am usually unactive and college is an opportunity to change. Going to the gym helped me decide to join the archery, because even if I go to the gym that does not aide my hand-eye coordination. However I wasn’t able to officially join them, I contacted them to show my interest. And after hearing the Freshman 15 stories, I decided I needed to focus more on phsyical health this year. However, I am unsure when the first GIM is for archery, I gave them my email. I am also interested in learning yoga due to my inflexibility, but there is no specific club for yoga yet or they are not posted on the mybaruch page. I hope to be able to meet others who are interested in either yoga or archery.
