Joining the Japanese Anime Asylum (JAA)

Before going to the club fair on September 28th, I searched up the clubs at Baruch online. I scrolled through the list of clubs to see if there are any I am interested in joining. I finally found a club I thought I might want to join, which was the Japanese Anime Asylum (JAA). The reason I want to join is I enjoy watching anime, although I haven’t watched a lot yet. I wanted to share my interest in anime with the other members of JAA by joining.

On the day of the club fair, which took place in the main gym, it took me a while to find the JAA table. When I did find it, I was fascinated by it. There was a spinner with various characters from various animes. There was a box decorated with anime logos. There was a JAA member showing people the shadowed pictures of certain anime characters so they could try to guess who the shown anime characters are. There was a JAA member with an iPad, asking people who are interested in joining to sign up. I signed myself up on the iPad.

One of the JAA members gave me a card, which tells me what day, in which room, and during what times does JAA meet. I was about to leave, but I realized I might not be able to attend every meeting or might not want to. I asked the JAA member who gave me the card, if I have to come to every meeting, and he said that it’s totally fine if I don’t. I realized the members of JAA were very nice, so I felt very positive about joining. So, I looked forward to my first meeting with JAA.
