On October 5, I attended a career event which the Accounting Society prepared. In this event, Bank of America discussed the role of the Chief Financial Officers team and the requirements for the bank’s Financial Managment Analyst Program. The professionals from the bank also provided all the attendants with pizza and refreshments. I was able to learn about how I should be open to many other jobs even if I earn my accounting degree. Bank of America hires Accounting and Finance majors for their financial positions. In the meeting, I learned that an individual continues to learn through their career experience.
The Finance Management Analyst Program (FMAP), a two- year program, focuses on finance and management accounting, and corporate finance. There are two rotational processes that help the analyst s develop their skills and knowledge of the Chief Financial Officer team. This program is available to those pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a Masters of Accounting. The professionals that hosted the event were only recruiting current juniors, which meant being a Freshman I couldn’t apply. However, I noted down this program so I can apply in the future when I do fit the requirements of the program.
This career event was my first time attending a professional workshop. It was a delightful experience learning about a different job I can look forward to with an accounting degree.
