Museum of Modern Art

I’ve never been one to appreciate art. Therefore, I decided to give it another shot, when I went to visit MoMA with a friend. Roaming around, I noticed a lot of abstract art that I did not understand, even given descriptions of the pieces. It was difficult to define the purpose or messages of the pieces, which was confusing. For example, there was a boiler room where the parts had been painted gold by the artist. Maybe the message was that there is beauty in all things. I really don’t know. Continuing to go walk throughout the museum with my friend, we came upon a dark room with a projector. In this room, I was clueless as to what the message was. Maybe there was none and it was precisely for the aesthetics. My trip to MoMA further proved to me that art really isn’t for me. I just don’t see the point of certain pieces, especially with today’s modern art.
