Freshman Seminar Fall 17 LC12

Blog Post #3

This week, I visited my first ever club at Baruch college. The club I visited was the Korean Student Association, also known as KSA. My good friend and I went and we weren’t expecting much to be honest, however, it took quite a good turn of events. I’m not that much of an outgoing person, but if I have to be, I will. In this case, they really pushed me to participate in stuff like games and group talks and it was fun! I met a lot of people and it was more enjoyable than I imagined. Going to this club made me realize that you had to go to these sorts of clubs in order to meet good people and that way you’ll build relationships and connections. My friend, who is also very introvert, had a good time too and I was glad I asked him to go. I will probably be attending this club more often and getting to know upperclassmen and also make new friends.

Internship Seminar blog post

I went to an Internship Seminar during club hours, and I was surprised of how much information it had to offer. First off, they started off by telling us what an internship is. An internship is where a student of trainee of some kind gets to gather experience and knowledge of a specific field that will maybe someday lead to a job. Then they explained how to get internships and what the benefits of some internships may be. Internships, as most people think, are not always unpaid. There can be positions where internships can not only be a place to learn, but a entry-level job. The instructor then gave us a list of websites and told us which was good and which was bad. In the future, I plan on getting an internship during my junior or senior year at Baruch College.

I decided to visit the Moma for this blog post. The reason why I chose the Moma was because they have many unique exhibits that caught my attention. I used this as a chance to catch up with one of my hobbies, photography. This was an interesting experience because I didn’t realize how ornate and abstract modern art would be. Many of the paintings were literally indescribable and looked like a bunch of scribbles, however, they were still pleasant to the eye. As I was going through my photos, a couple of them drew my attention. The first picture was taken by my friend, a fellow photographer. I was standing in front of a blank canvas and it kinda looked like a painting of me, which I thought was quite creative. The second picture was taken by me and it was quite the coincidence. If you look at it carefully, you’ll see why it’s funny.
