Vietnamese club

Last Thursday I just registered to the Vietnamese club, which represents my country. It is called Vietnamese club but most of them are Korean, Japanese and Chinese. There are only 3 Vietnamese memembers which are my best friend, one of the club’s leader and I. However, the club’s members are very friendly and interesting. We joint the game show on the 9th floor and there were nearly 25 people. They were very happy and exciting because they could gathered more vietnamese members. At first, the leaders divided us into 5 different groups and we played the game called “draw and guess”. There was one person represented in each group came to the board and drew some topics that the leaders gave to them. Then the others must guess what the topic was and whoever got the correct ones had the point. After 5-6 rounds, our team had nearly the lowest points. The next game was “act and guess”. Instead of one person going to the board and the rest members guess, this game asked the whole group to come to the board and only one person could guess the topic. Finally, we were the winners after 5 rounds in this game and we had a gift of some chocolate cakes. After these 2 games, we could have the light lunch with either salmon or chicken sandwiches and some drinks such as coke or sprite.

At the end of the game show, we took the group photos and the leaders announced some activities in the future. We also have the instagram and facebook page of this club. Therefore, we usually take some funny and beautiful pictures of our activities and the whole group during and after the club time. It was an happy and unbelievable experience for me that I could make more friends, join one of the best clubs in Baruch.

The MET

Last month, on September 14, I had a wonderful trip to one of the largest museum of art in America, which is The Metropolitan Museum of Art ( known as the MET). It was the first time I’ve ever visited a museum in America and I was so curious and excited. I and Felix went together after school and we had so much fun there. The only word that could describe our feeling at first is shocked. We were shocked by the grand main gate and the enormous construction of the museum. It took us a huge amount of time to finish the journey and gave us so many experiences about art that we never got before. We could witness directly the most famous and the oldest masterpieces, statues, etc. The permanent collection consists of art from classical antiquity and Ancient Egypt, paintings and sculptures from nearly all the European masters and an extensive collection of modern art. The most favorite part of my journey was visiting the European sculpture and decorative arts collection. It is one of the largest departments at the MET, holding in excess of 50,000 separate pieces from the 15th through the early 20th centuries. In addition to its outstanding collections of English and French furniture, we entered dozens of completely furnished period rooms, transplanted in their entirety into the Met’s galleries.

Hello

The club that I joined was Pre-recorded, which I went to last Thursday. This is the first time joining a club at Baruch College so I was very excited. It was an honor for me to know more people, add more friends, and develop the socialization.

There were many people attended to the pre-recorded and that made the club time more exciting. I was late for half an hour, therefore I could not join one of the club’s activities. At first, we played the game called ice-breaker. I was quite sad because I missed the opportunity to connect and know each other through that game. I needed to wait till the next activity.

Then, we all together watched a video on youtube that the club’s council made. We had so much fun and laughed out loud for many times. After watching, we discussed about it and we voted to watch it again but I dont know why the video was not played.

We enjoyed the food and drinks after that. Those were pretty nice with sandwiches, chocolate cakes, coke and stuffs. I was quite full so I only had a slide of sandwich with a cup of coke.

Finally, we all together played the game that I really enjoyed, which was Uno. The cards are enough for everyone in the room so we could all had fun together. The games took us half an hour to play and we couldnt find out whose the winner because the club time was over.

Since joining this club, I have enjoyed it so much and it created an opportunity for me to make friends, and feel a part of the Baruch community. I would join more clubs like this one and I will advise my friends to join the pre-recorded, the club that made my Thursday became more interesting and exciting after a tired morning.
