The workshop I attended was the Ad Hoc workshop. I only went to it because I needed to get a career blog post in but I actually learned something interesting. It isn’t important in my case but it is useful information to share because some in the school might not know about this program. Essentially it is a program hosted through the Weissman school that allows you to create your own major using a bunch of different classes. For example, a persons who created music, was a personal trainer, and was interested in the marking aspect of the musical business was able to take a variety of classes to fit his various hobbies. If you feel like creating your own major that is tailored towards your interest you must submit an application to the Star Office with the reasoning on why it would be beneficial to you and i just thought this was a really cool program. Im on the road to finance so I wont really need it but I can see how some others in the school can seriously benefit from a program like this. Welp, thats my post. Sorry about the less than interesting picture. I just felt really awkward taking pictures when everyone is so serious at a workshop like this. Thanks for reading

Monologue
Daniel Reinoso
One of the biggest aspects of my life right now is probably playing guitar. I didn’t start playing until fairly recently. Maybe the last 6 months seriously, but 2 years in total here and there. It is my main hobby and I thoroughly enjoy it. I hope to possibly even make music for fun in the future if I ever actually learn how to do that correctly. The person who got me into my favorite hobby would be Ed Sheeran. He does some amazing stuff on a guitar and it inspired me to actually start playing seriously. Ever since then Its pretty much been all I’ve done in terms of hobbies. This is why I’m playing the song “The A Team” as part of my monologue today. This was the first song I completely finished on guitar and it was an extremely hard song to learn. It took me about 2 weeks of practicing probably 2 hours a day, but for some reason I just kept pushing myself to finish it. Once I completed it, it set my whole hobby in motion because the success felt great and It just made me eager to learn more. I was really proud of finishing it so I felt like it was the most appropriate song to perform since my successful completion of it led to a big part of my life today.
Writing Center Workshop in Anthropology
The timing was great for this workshop actually. It just hit me a midterm essay was due in this class in about 7 days and I had absolutely no idea how i was going to approach it. So, in conclusion Joey from the Writing Center helped out a lot with this issue. He came in with really corny jokes, kind of expected. He definitely wasn’t the funniest person I met. BUT, he was very helpful. We went over exactly how to tackle a complex essay question and how to stay aware of tying to the introduction. He tried to begin class discussions but I was pretty much the only one participating since everybody else was half asleep because of political science the class before hand. I cant blame them, that class can cure insomnia. As of now though, because of him and his workshop, my essays are completed and I am not stressing. Thanks Joey. I was going to take a picture but it was more of a class type of vibe and if i just started taking pictures i might have looked like a weirdo.
Blue Notes General Interest Meeting Blog Post
Hey everyone! On Thursday, August 31st I met with the Blue Notes of Baruch College at one of their interest meetings. I came in nervous since I’m aware that not everyone makes it on, but that quickly went away when I met most of the executive board and realized they are great people who are really welcoming to all the people interested even if those people don’t necessarily get on the team. They spoke about workshops that any and all can attend for the blue notes even if you aren’t on. The meeting got very entertaining when everyone, including the executive board, all spoke about who they were and what their favorite karaoke song was. As all of this was going on I was eating a bunch of cookies the leaders so generously offered and drinking some iced tea. We all got to talk a little bit about ourselves at some point briefly. Overall, I already felt like they were a wonderful group of people to be around and I honestly hope I see them more on campus. I don’t have a picture from the event, but ill give an illustration. A room full of kids at desks, picture me in the front, eating lots of cookies along with others eating lots of cookies. Thats probably all you need to see anyway so uh there you go.
