I think the first three months of college has been stressful. I’ve come to realize that college is more work compared to high school so I definitely need time to adjust to it. There’s a lot of reading and writing that needs to be done in a short amount of time and I’ve found myself constantly losing sleep just to finish an assignment. I tend to procrastinate often so it doesn’t really help when I have a ton of work that needs to get done. I think over time  I’ll  learn to manage my time wisely and not be so stressed out.

I think the main difference between high school and college for me is the diversity. In Long Island, there is diversity among people but nothing like NYC. In the city, you truly get a sense of all the different cultures the world has to offer. Back home, people might look different from you but you all speak the same language. Here, basically everyone can speak more than one language and I think that’s really interesting. For example, my roommate is from Brazil and she speaks Portuguese. Now, I feel the need to learn that language. Living in the city, you really get to know more about other cultures and their traditions. It opens your mind to new things like things that might seem strange in your culture can be totally normal in another. I think it’s really important to learn from people with different backgrounds. Also, the variety of food you can find in the city is endless. You can try different foods from all around the world everyday. The entire world is basically at your fingertips.

Here are some pictures that truly represent who I am. The first picture is of my family. They mean the absolute world to me and I honestly don’t know where I would be without them. The next picture is of my dog, Charlie. I am such a dog person that I probably love dogs more than most people. Next is a picture of me and my friends. This was taken during our senior year. Basically that day, each friend group made t-shirts and took lots of pictures. I am extremely thankful to have my friends in my life. Most people would say they hated high school, but for me, it was the best 4 years of my life because I met such incredible people during that time. The next 2 pictures are pictures I took on Long Island. I can honestly say that i’m so happy to have grown up in such a lovely and gorgeous place. Nothing beats a Long Island sunset. Also, going to the beach literally takes 5 minutes. But, my favorite place to go to during the summer is the trails. It’s so calming and taking walks there makes me really happy. The next picture is a picture I took at a concert. Music has made such an impact on my life growing up. Going to concerts never fail to put me in the best mood. Next is netflix. I spend way too much time watching tv shows and movies but I don’t regret it one bit. Lastly, I want to travel the world one day. I think going to new places is always exciting and a great way to learn about anything and everything. Traveling around the world is definitely something I want to do in my life.
