Unable to upload the GIF here due to lack of space, But I can provide you with the link: http://9gag.com/gag/a4dqe1w

During my time in New York and at Baruch College I have learned many things. Mostly I have been able to grow into a critically thinking person, not simply accepting what I hear if not with proper argumentation. I have become more interested in subjects that I would never ever study if it were not for Baruch core curriculum. I also feel that I have become less shy with expressing my opinion (which is a very Swedish way of behaving).

There is one thing however that has improved that most. That is my walking pace. When I first got here everyone was walking really really fast. I am usually a fast walker but now suddenly people that appeared to be in a tremendous rush kept walking past me. I didn’t take me long until I started to feel however minute walking slowly is a minute wasted. I was not sure what I was in a rush for but I was in a rush. To everything, to school, back from school and even when walking and looking at the “turisty” parts on the city I was in a rush.

Now I barely find anything more annoying that some lazy tourist taking up a lot of space and walking extremely slowly in the middle of the side walk. I wish that it was not illegal to slap people in the back of the head for doing this, for takin up the time of us fast-walkers.

I also happen to be a strong advocate against the capital punishment. But when seeing someone stop and tie their shoe in the subway, in the middle of the stairs in rush hour it clouds my judgement regarding death penalty.

Thank you everyone!

Monologue by Martin Branzell

What should you write about in a monologue like this? It is a tough question from me. I want to be clever, I want to be original and make sure that what I do, is not something trivial. The problem with having clever topics in a monologue is that they tend to be very long, and this is not supposed to be a long monologue. What other subjects can I write about?

Too many people are talking about how their trip to New York, so that will not make me original. I was thinking of having a grandiose subject that will make everyone that reads it smarter. I quickly put that idea to rest as it is far easier said than done. So should I write about Sweden? No, too far fetch and rather boring. Too soon my readers will figure out Sweden for a small and nice country, filled with schools and hospitals, all paid by tax dollars of course.

So I ended up writing a trivial text, maybe original but definitely trivial. This text will probably not have a huge impact on society and will not fundamentally change any of my readers. I am also not sure if this text will be read at all? If you have read this text you can tell me next FRO-class.

Parts of Martin Branzell

About Martin

I come from a very small city in Sweden (Not Switzerland) called Söderköping but have spent most of my grown up time in Norrköping. Just like every other city in Sweden, they both end with –Köping.

The red house you can see, is the house I grew up in and that my mother and her husband live in today. You can see my kid brother in some of the images, he is probably the one thing I miss about Sweden right now.

I have been working internationally for several years. At Puma Headquarters in Germany as an intern for the Product line management department. But also as a Sales/Account manager with clients around Europe, Asia and Australia. I like to travel both work-related and non-work-related. However, travelling in work in not as nice as you might think.

I have some distant families living in New York so after being here several times, it was an easy choice to study at Baruch in New York City.

I also enjoy music a lot, both listen and play some guitar and sing. But that’s strictly for the bathroom or if I’m in the mood (drunk). I like to be up to date with the world news, and I always try to find out the truth about world conflicts and what the hidden agendas might be for nations to act like they do. Meaning that one channel of media and news is not really enough.

I know that I don’t want to be a nuclear scientist when I get older, and that is about it. I hate closing doors, figuratively and not literately. This is not always a good thing.
